The orphanage where I've been sending our cloth diapers all these years has a new adoption policy page. ONLY "Biblical Christians" can adopt the children. Hmph. So much for having them on my list of places to consider.

I don't get how an orphanage could deliberately exclude an open-armed, loving family of any kind - single parents, gay parents, older parents, non-Christian parents - all have the potential to be a great family to a child.

My rant for the day. I swear they didn't used to have that policy at that orphanage.

It's ok, though. I'm still really excited about adopting. We just have to cross that one off our list (which actually will make things easier when we have to decide where to apply, I guess).

What's a "Biblical Christian"? Aren't all Christians following the Bible, or at least, try???
You're right, that is sad.:eyes:

I have no idea what they would define as a Biblical Christian. But I know I'm not one, since we're not Christians.

I told DH it was weird, because having some Christian family was always enough to at least be able to fake it for most situations. But I can't here, and I wouldn't. This is one of the few times I've ever experienced discrimination that I could do nothing about. Good lesson for me to hold in my heart.

I'm disappointed, but I mostly feel sad for the children who will have to wait longer for families because of this rule.

We've run into this too, where only "evangelical Christians" could adopt - we are Christians, but we aren't evangelical, we don't even attend church half the time!
