With all the talk we have had recently about loving the look of NF and those who actually do it how much they enjoy it, I am just hoping someone will have time to do a needle felt along!! I know many of us are entrenched in swap crafting but I REALLY want to learn how to do it and visual is the best way for me.

So, any takers???? pretty please!! :smooch:

I found htis site earlier tonight as I was looking for info on how to clean and prepare a raw wool fleece that I sitting here so that I can needle felt with it ... http://www.allfiberarts.com/cs/felting.htm

The entire site is great - tons of links. The instructions on how to needle felt dolls are great! Maybe we can do a craft along :)

I could do one. What do you want to felt? I don't have anything planned right now, since I am finishing projects and haven't given new ones any thought yet.

I can't do anything with red roving thogh, because I don't have any. And I can't buy more because every time I got to the lys I just have to get a big bag of all kinds of colors of roving and my box is already overflowing, lol. I am on craft supply diet ;)

YES!! I knew we could get this together!!

I am interested in starting with something very simple. A bunny seems pretty easy or even a simple human form.

I will look through the site that Bonnie mentioned too!!

Thanks again. This will be FUN!

Edited: I just went to the site and saw this: http://www.mielkesfarm.com/ladybug_dir.htm
Oh, shoot though, it is red!! Never mind but it looks fairly simple. Will keep looking.

Hi,
I would love to join in ! - I do need to order some new hooks and foam, however.

I can dye you up a bit of red felt if you need some:)

I would love to do a rabbit or a turtle... I did do the ladybug at mielkes farm - and the instructions are really well done if anyone wants to that as well.

Warm wishes,
Tonya

I would love to do a rabbit. I tried a rabbit last winter but just couldn't make it look the way I wanted. Even with numerous trips into Holden's bedroom to look at the real thing (we have 3 bunnies), lol!

I can try the ladybug on my own then. The directions do look quite thorough!!

A bunny would be GREAT!! We have one also and the children love anything related to them!!

I'm all for it, and hopefully I have roving in the right colour!

A polar bear sounds great, seasonally appropriate too!

I would love to try to make Anu's polar bear :) I am all out of white roving of course, lol! But I found info on how to clean and card the enormous wool fleece I have sitting here so I just need to actually do it and then I will have tons of white ;)

well, you were a bit too late with the polar bear idea, I have already half a bunny done, waiting for the camera battery to charge to do the other half and keeping fingers crossed that Liisa would stay asleep :)
but it is really easy to modify bunny to polar bear.

Bunnies are good too :) Maybe we can start with the bunny since you are working on that now and then try the polar bear as a homework assignment, lol!

the bunny is done and the text as well but my camera battery gave up (I charged it partially before).
Now Liisa is awake though so it will be proably tonight that I get to upload the craftalong (need to put pictures between the text and I have a LOT of pictures)

I got very brave ... and now I have a big wet lump of nice clean wool drying on top of my washing machine (from that raw wool fleece I have had for months, lol). Once it dries I have to card it (and have to get the appropraite tools to do that first ;)) then I can get felting! Of course, I can make a green, red, orange or yellow bunny - got plenty of those colors, lol!
