With an unschooling approach, just about everything is a lesson in disguise but I have some favorites this year. :)

tangoes:
My 13 yo and I play traditionally.
my 9 year old works at her own pace
My 5 year old tries to copy the answer keys. I truly marvel watching him spin and flip and frown at the little pieces.

Rushhour:
My 13 yoa works to find the least amnt of moves.
My 9 year old is still on beginner cards.
My 5 year old is starting beginner cards but mostly matches the puzzle cards; tries to lay out the cars in the same pattern as the card.

Pattern blocks, wooden dominoes (without dots, for standing up and knocking down) and regular dominoes (with dots, for matching), Go Fish, gears, legoes, Star Stackups, of course puzzles and books. My kids are little, so they kind of do their own thing as far as games go...but they manage to make a "game" out of games that they don't understand yet!

My nearly-5-year-old would probably love that Rush Hour game, I should buy it for him for his birthday!

Blink, rush hour, dominoes. I have also made up a lot of games and those are usually the best. My kids like the "Eyes" game in Phonics Pathways. I have modified it for math, spelling... you name it.

a basic deck of cards. We play "war" and addition war (add you 2 cards & highest wins). We play 21 to learn subtraction. We play the matching game with either the numbers or the suites and uno. DD also likes to try and build houses with them.

We're also big fans of scrabble even if we mostly just try to build words with the tiles. Also that game where you shake the letter cubes into the grid & find words. Sorry can't remember what it's called.

Pattern blocks

Discovery Toys pegboard with pegs and rubber bands

Math Sense blocks and a pattern book

Boggle Junior

Finger Puppets and theater with little cards with rhymes on it they act out with puppets

Counting Bears

Funtastic frogs (same idea as counting bears) with Science workbooks

Usborne Learning Palette

We had a chocolate adcvent calendar that was great this year. Whit's always been into letters and not numbers and this was a great way for her to learn to recognize the bigger numbers and get an immediate reward. LOL ;)
