but now I am not so sure. After sitting down and really looking through Story of the World I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!! My question is this. Is doing SOTW and FIAR too much for a 6yr old? Do I do both, do one (which one)? Are we missing out on something if we do not do FIAR?
AGHHHH!!!!! I feel lost all over again!!!! :vent:

In all honesty... if you were to just either one as your main 'curriculum' and look at the other as really good stories to read togteher... I think it wouldn't be too much.
What would you be doing for Story of the World? Would you also use the activity guides?
This year we are using Sonlight's LA curriculum for Nate - which is reading a bunc hof good kid stories. We are also reading through Story of the World 1 and 2 - and when we get to parts he is more interested in (Beowulf, he loved that!) then we delve deeper. He does d oa lot of the coloring pages, because he loves to color and we do talk about the maps because I enjoy it and he enjoys it. But you wouldn't HAVE to do those things... you could simply use it as a story hour book. OR... you could use the FIAR books for story hour books.
There aren't any right answers... and that is good and sometimes overwhelming.

LOL!!! Yeah it is good AND bad at times!
I had planned on doing the activities as DS and I both like to go outside the realm of just reading. I also get so excited about the lessons that *I* want to read all the additional books listed - which I know isn't always fun for a 6yr old!!!! eeek! I do not know WHAT to do.....
