Today, I need to get some housework done. I have laundry that needs to be folded and put away. Plus, about 4 more loads to do.

I need to wrap some presents.

I need to grocery shop.

I'd like to organize the book shelf in the living room. Also organize the cd's and dvds.

I need to order pizza for Joshua's pizza party tomorrow at school.

Balance my check book.

Start dinner

What are you doing today?

If I get ambitious I'll clean the glass globe on the light at the front door too!

Play catchup on preparing for the holiday with far too much holiday last minute shopping.

Prepare cards to go out.

Attending to the family needs, no laundry today, no sewing today.

Holiday prep all week.

Well, let's look at what I DID get done:

Went to the bank with 4 little kids to get my bankcard replaced with no identification (wallet stolen) That was just enormously fun.

Phoned to get our medical cards replaced. Also enormously fun because I was bawling my eyes out to the poor lady. I couldn't even speak clearly. Ugh.

There must be something positive? Oh yeah, I was at my friends house with my four little ones at 8am (which I'm quite proud of accomplishing) so I could drive her to the bus station with her 3 boys because her car broke down. So I did give service.

As for the house, I told Dave I'd vacuum the stairs today. Didn't get done, sadly. And now it's 9pm and I'm too tired. Crying wears me out!

Tomorrow will be better. I'm optomistic.

I have to clean the toilets
I am making little zippered pouches for some Christmas gifts that I need to finish up and wrap.
If I have any time left over tonight I would like to recover one of my couch cushions. I have been working on recovering my couch and the body is done but I still have to do the cushions.
However, dd is sick and the house really needs some cleaning so I will be happy if I get the toilets and the pouches done!

buy a battery for my Aunt's car and install it.
swing by laundromat and wash a few loads OR buy breaker for washer and install. Leaning toward laundromat option and waiting for electrician BIL to come play with the washing machine situation.
bake a few gingerbread houses.
bake cookies with the kids.

Phew!!! I just spent the morning in ds2's class. Busy, busy.

I'm hopping on here to take a little breather, then I need to fold some laundry. I would like to start dinner as ds1 has a Christmas performance tonight.

Well I had a to-do list this morning and I think I've almost got it all done! (Still haven't vacuumed the stairs though.)

I bought stamps. Had to go to two different stores though. I guess the stores are sold out because everyone's trying to avoid the post office.

Did some baking (four different recipes!) as thank-yous for people who have helped me out with the stupid wallet thing.

Drove my friend to pick up her Christmas Hamper from the Salvation Army.

Met up with another friend for a quick playdate.

I can't remember what else because I can't find my list! Figures. But I've been crazy busy all day. Have hardly taken a deep breath since I woke up this morning! LOL

I did not really start out with a list of goals for the day, but I did accomplish:

looking and getting an application for a more affordable rental

boxed up most of my books

set aside to donate or sell many many things in my house, including some books that I will shortly list on the market board...

unloaded the dishwasher

had civil conversation with ex husband (which is next to never)

possibly found an affordable car to replace my clunker

the little things help keep me optimistic

I need to get over this terrible cold.

I need to finish making my and my dad's stockings and hang them all, which will require a trip to the store for hooks.

I need to drink something warm and play with my kids. (I was stressed and B*tchy yesterday)

I need to put away my sewing stuff. I got most of my sewing list done and the rest can wait until next week. I am done... finished or not. ;)

I need to wrap gifts, lots of them.

ETA: MUST clean bathroom... don't want to... but must. I hate using cleaners (Natural or not) when I have a cold... but it must be done.

Dh and I have a date tonight to see King Kong. Then we are going to do a last minute trip to the mall, without children thank god, for my brother's gift, and a little something else for my dad.

I think that's it... but above all else... I have got to relax.

breathe, Val, breathe.

Have fun seeing King Kong. I remember that movie breaking my heart when I was younger. I don't want to see it again and be the only one bawling in the movie theater. lol

Ok so I relaxed... I cleaned the bathroom, clean the rest of the nonessential sewing stuff, and played with my kids while I made peppermint cocoa and hot cider. Then went to dinner and watched King Kong with Don. It was a relaxing day. I didn't over do it, except standing outside talking with my dad (who babysat) in the freezing cold for an hour. But all in all it was a good relaxing day. I am feeling a little better too.

King kong was good Suz. It really was. You have to go and want to see a completely unrealistic Godzilla type thriller... but if you go in that mind set, you will not be disappointed. The best part of the movie was the interaction between Ann and Kong. It was done so well that a few times they made me cry. It was beautiful the way they did Kong. Just amazing. The thriller part I could have done with out... but I tolerated it for the bits of life between those two. (The movie could have been an hour shorter all taken from bits of "Action" and been just as good if not better.... lol...)

Glad you had a good day.

I'm thinking I'll still pass on King Kong. It broke my heart when they shot him of the Empire State building. :wah:
