It's funny, becaue last night I was making a little database with everyone's addresses who participates in the swaps, so that I have everything in the same place. So I was going through my pp receipts to get the addys and I was wondering where you went, Tawnya! I was going to post today to see if anyone had heard from you since you haven't been on the swap forum in a bit! Glad you're back :)

Any way we can do a one on one swap for some penguins and seals. My boys favorite movie at the moment is the March of the Penguins and for some reason the part they like best is when the seal smacks the mommy penguin :rolleyes: :rolleyes: . I know weird boys huh? They also like other parts. But, they would love a penguin and a seal.

PM me if we can work something out! I could embroider some tresure bags for your kids, or crochet/knit them up something. I recently did some fairy tale finger puppets sets that turned out really cute......

I usually use the time after the kids go to bed to work on orders, but I am current so I took two nights to work on the new swaps. I finished both Valentine's Day, the peaceful animals, CHinese New Year and the new years ones :) But I was working with clay which goes pretty quickly. And Kenna had a low grade fever yesterday so she only wanted to lay down on the couch and watch Christmas specials... so while she watched I sat with her and made things out of clay. Holden did what he always does - push around the choo choos, break to nurse, more trains, more nursing, etc.

I am going to needle felt something for this one, so it will take me longer this time!

It's a little needle felted pond with an edge of tall grasses and a cat tail, where the duck can build her nest. I have to get ore brown wool roving so I cna make a little nest to put there. I want to add another little pond animal to the sets ... but I don't know what I should add! Any ideas?

The ponds are 4 1/2 - 5 " long and the ducks are about 2".

I thought about making turtles, but I won't do that, lol!

I am going to work on monkeys and alligators. And I think I may try a clay armadillo. We are reading Jan Brett's book about the Armadillo rodeo and in our part of Oklahoma we see a lot of Armadillos....

This will be exciting to get all these little animals.

We got cool hedgehogs from hastings a year or two ago in a swap - she made them out of gum tree balls and they were so neat :) If someone PMs her, maybe she'd do it again?

I would like to join this one as well. Do I have to say exactly what kind of animal I will make?? Is the idea to make an animal for a Spring nature table or a winter one? Yes, I read the initial post and I am confused!! Do I pick from the animals listed?? Just let me know. I want to do a set of 6 if that is ok.

Oh and is it ok if I send the postage along with my animals? I don't have online payment options (my dh is freaky about that!!) If not, that's ok too!

Animals are around all the year so i would say any animal you'd like to make. It isn't like polar bears disappear for the summer!

since this type of swap is new to me i have a question. i want one of each type of animal. the minimum is sending 6 - yet (without me) there are 7 other animals. should i just send 7 then so i can get one of each? or will that mess things up? i don't forsee my sending 12 or 16...i am still a slow crafter LOL

Any kind of animal is fine. I vote for penguins!

I think it will be easier to sort if we just keep it to the 6, 12, or 16. When I sort I will enlist the help of my boys and have them put animals in boxes so that way it will be "random." You'll get back the same amount that you send it.

I'll post pictures and if you want one of every animals then maybe you can work out a one on one swap with that person.

I'm totally lost on this swap :( I had signed up originally to get 2 of everything, and make a double set of my animals, so that I would have a complete set for each of my kiddos. Now we have more people and the 6, 12, 16 thing and I am lost, lol!

Tawnya - I just sent you a package with your penguin/seal/iceberg playmats for your boys, and I sent 16 felted lakes with ducks. But I am looking at the numbers in the OP now and if I was still going ot do a complete set for each of my kids then I would need to send 24 because there are 12 people in the wap (not counting myself, but counting everyone twice who has double written next to their name). I can certainly send 8 more felted lakes and ducks, but have to get more blue roving first; I ran out of it last night finishing the 16 lakes. I'm just lost on this set up!

BTW - in the box, there are 3 packages that are wrapped in tissue paper and closed with holiday stickers, rather than with my mailing labels. All the ones sealed with my mailing labels (there are 14) are the felted lakes and ducks for the swap. The 3 that are sealed with holiday stickers are the 2 icebergs/penguins/eggs/ice/seals for your boys, and the other is 2 felted lakes and ducks for your boys for the little animals swap. I had run out of mailing labels and tissue paper so i packaged theirs up together :)

We have 10 people signed up. So that means there should be 10 different animals.

So for example, if I send in six animals and want two of each animal then I will only get back three different animals (two of each)- does that make sense?

I know that it would be nice to get one of each animal but then there are some of us (like ME! :) ) who can only make six animals due to limited crafting time- even with the far off shipping date. (there are only so many hours in a day and I am a "single mom" most of the time.....)

So, I'm really not sure how to work it for a person to get one of every animal. I just think it will be easier to sort if we just do it so that you get back as many animals as you send it and you may not get one of every animal because some people are not able to make that many.

Am I making any sense?

I'm glad I opened it back up because it has given an opportunity for some others who have not been in a swap to sign up and participate.

I will be sure to post pictures of all the animals and if you don't get some animal then you can contact the creator and see what you can work out.

Because of the numbers of people we have had sign up I think 12 should be the maximum number you can send in. I had put 16 down because I had no idea how many would sign up.

It will all work out in the end. It generally does and everyone sends in such nice things no one is disappointed.

Ok, well that makes more sense than how I was thinking ... I was thinking that if I was doing double then would I have to send in 32? or 24? I was totally lost! 2 sets of 8 sounds good to me. Or 16 various animals, I don't care, The kids like different animals anyway, so having them be able to choose their favorites from 16 different ones might be a better way to go anyway. Well, however many different animals there are and then duplicates to make up the number to 16.

I know I'm a day late on signing up but I'd love to do this. It will be my first time making an animal like this but I want to try. Hope that's ok w/ everyone. I promise I won't send something that looks goofy lol! I'm not sure what I'll do yet but can update when I figure it out.

okay so there are 10 people and if i count all the doubles then iits 14, so shoudl i send 14 of the same animal? so will get one and the 4 doubles will get doubles? and send 2 extras just to be safe?

i'm abit lost myself. I am sending 16 so i want one of everythign back even if they are not all doubles at least the kids can choose the ones they want for themselves

Why do't we leave it up to everyone else? If people don't mind moving the due date up a week to 1/28, the I will host it so everyone can save a bit on shipping. If moving it up is going to be a problem, then you go ahead and take it and keep the shipping date.
