:kittypink my name is lisa and i m a 21 yr old pagan mama to 2 dds (emily who is 31 months old, and ava who is 3 months old on wednesday!) i m new here and i have a question. emily was a very gassy baby, as is ava, and they both seem to have this "thing" where they only poop in certain places/positions...emily would only go in her bouncy seat and her exersaucer, and ava only goes on her change table and in her bouncy seat. i would like to know if this is normal or if my kids are weird lol. also, i was wondering what i can do for ava during the nights becuz she gets gas pains and will not poop while she is co sleeping with me...i have to put her on her change table and THEN she goes...

Yes it is normal. Humans like ritual. When I go camping and use an outhouse I usually leave feeling like something isnt finished. I triple check everything and usually am kinda freaked out when I realize that I didnt hear a flush so my brain tells me I am not done. A friend of mine will actually make the noise for me as I am exiting... it makes me feel better

My 2 year old could be a great example of positions to try to push a baby out. He does several things several positions and vocalizes. It is quite funny.

As for the gas pains. I highly recomend learning the art of belly massage. I am a pro at massaging out gas pain. We are all born with a gift mine is gas relief. If you put your hands on her belly and just start massaging you will start to feel the difference in gas and other bloating and in time can get very good at this... my DH will attest to my abnormal gas relief abilities (now that is not something I thought I would ever say to a group of strangers) The only key is to know the direction the intestions go. facing your child it is left to right and up to down... like reading.

jackson will go poop EVERY time he is in his exersaucer. i have no clue why...but he is consistent like that. just wanted to say that it sounds pretty normal. and i second what julie said above about belly massage. we did this alot with my oldest.

The only time Isabella will lay her head on someone's shoulder is while pooping, how sad that I treasure those cuddle moments lol Have you tried some chamomile tea or those gas drops? The only bottles my oldest ever took was tea when he was about 8-10 weeks he had major gas pains and it really helped him
