I finished my long stem roses last night. I always wait until just before the mailing date to do my swap items, but I was excited to make these, so I'm super early this time, lol. I will post pics later, after they are baked (clay) and made presentable. I made everyone 3 long stemmed roses and will tie them together with a little ribbon and wrap them in tissue paper, just like the real thing :happy:

:couple: I'm going to try rose arbors, please help me with size. I'm thinking of using floral wire, lacey ribbon and a wooden base and felt roses. What size will your table be? Maybe the arbor can be large enough for it underneath - oooh a romantic spot for a bendy valentine meal.. :couple:

They are just a little longer than a toothpick, since that is what I used for the stems.

Thanks :) I have had a ton of clay for ever and just never used it. Then when this swap came up, I wanted to make roses and realized that if I can make frosting roses (I am also a cake decorator) then I can also make clay ones and my new addiction with Sculpey/Fimo started, lol!

Hi all! The arbor idea is not panning out in my head so I'm going with romantic picnic items for bendies... probably bottle of wine, cheese bread and a pie? We'll see. This isn't the same as someone else is it? I'm looking for baskets too.

That's okay - no gazebo for you. All kidding aside I totally understand. I am barely getting things done around the house. I think my children have turned into monkeys and they think I'm the banana tree. It's hard to craft or sew while Lily is trying to grab everything I have in my hands.

btw - i ended up making floral bouquets for the boy bendies to give to the girl bendies. making them look like centerpieces or arrangements wasn't working out. i'll post a pic soon. hope that is ok!

I'm sorry Bonnie, I didn't read this until today. I can wait for you to ship until the week before V'day, even up until that weekend, I don't think it would take too long to get here. I'm so excited about the V'day stuff. I bought Duncan this wooden box at the last sale, and the handle on top has a heart cut out in the middle. I'm going to paint it up and put all the goodies in there. We love Valentine's day here :smooch:

I just wanted to bump this up and thank all you lovely ladies for letting me in this swap. I just gave Duncan his gift and he was thrilled. this has been a terrible day for me to say the very least..but it was such fun setting up the valentines stuff with the kids, they loved it. I have fluff and stuffing from one end of my kitchen and the kids had a BALl with it all.

It even inspired them to have a big kids picnic along side their bendies:)

I really can not tell all you how blessed i feel to know you all and be able to give my children such wonderful things.

I just wanted to add, because I know you guys can appreciate this, what Duncan told his Daddy today about his Vday box. He said "DAD!!!! Mom and some of her friends got together and made me a Valentine's set!!!!!" ..and he topped that off by taking his box to dinner with us and playing with the bendies that Cindy made him on the table in a "castle" that he had drawn on the table paper, and using the cupid's bow and arrow to try and make the wicked witch sweet. :smooch:

I'm glad you were able to get your box today so that he could have his things :) McKenna always asks me which o fmy friends made such-and-such item ... she frequently names her items after the person who made them. We have a Where's Waldorf doll that I got Kenna for Yule that is now named Rebecca, after Rebecca from WW. :heart:
