We're done with Abeka science K and 1, and looking for something fun, colorful and that can entertain my never satisfied boy on rainy days :D

Do you use Singapore? or have used it before? liked it? or not? why?

How about Apologia?

Thank you :)

I've glanced through the Singapore science, and it seemed cute. My only comment would be that you would probably go through it pretty fast. The ones I looked at were about the size of the Abeka K science book.

The Apologia is a bit thicker and meatier. I had the Astronomy, but my DS wasn't quite ready for the reading (even if it was me reading to him). I did like the projects. I thought they were well thought out and not too cheasy. You can also buy the supplies for the projects at hometraining tools.com

For textbook science, I like Bob Jones science. Although I don't care for most of Bob Jones curriculum, I do like the science.

I've heard that Singapore does go quickly. But it's cheap.

This is what I'll be getting for Erik the next time I want to order something:
http://www.arn.org/arnproducts/rs4k/rs60.htm He will absolutely love it. Chemistry is really his thing. He doesn't really get into life sciences yet. But adores doing science experiments.

Do you do DVDs? Because this DVD has been soooo much fun for Erik:

There's an Usborne book that corresponds with it, too.

I agree with Heather on both counts! We've used both of these and really enjoyed them. I'm actually getting ready to sell the Real Science 4 Kids Chemistry Set, in case you're interested before I post it.

Lisa, what are you selling? The elem. Chemistry book? The pre-level I just posted? Or is there a separate kit? I'm interested, just confused :)

We're done with the Pre-Level Chemistry books (teacher's, child's, experiments, the 3 book set) - I believe those were the ones in your link?

Great! I'm glad to send it on to someone I 'know'. We really enjoyed this. Let me get it together after we eat supper and figure a fair price, I'll be back!

thanks!
