OK as Miguel is approching 2 1/2 years we asked my FIL to buy the boys bunk beds for the holidays. Got them yesterday brought them home and put them together
around dinner Miguel was talking about sleeping in his new bed. We had assumed he would suddenly not go in the nursery for a few months out of bed fear so this was a shock
Took the bath got dressed and he curled up in his new bed. Read him his story turned out the lights then he whispered that he wanted to go to the big bed... I was falling apart so it was fine. I really wasnt ready yet
so whats next? how do we take the next step? how long should we wait?> Follow his lead? what signs do I look for?
Thanks
julie

totally follow his lead & make sure he has a lighted path to your room just incase he changes his mind in the middle of the night.

I am in the same place you are...we just converted Isaacs crib to a big boy bed...he has been doing pretty well, staying in bed for the most part...but when dh got up this morning he found little man sleeping on our bedroom floor at the foot of our bed, using my pants as a pillow...so sad, don't know why he didn't just get in bed with us

Awh... What a big boy! They suprise you like that huh?
I had imagined that Cole would get up at night or not stay in bed to fall asleep. But he did great after the first couple of days. I swear that kid could sleep anywhere though. The first night without a rail, he fell out of bed onto the cushion I had set up and he didn't even wake up.
Now if I could only figure out how to get them both to go to sleep in the same room. Anyone have any suggestions? Cole falls asleep in our bed and we move him before we go to sleep. I'm afraid that Cole would keep Truman up and I'm so paranoid about getting Truman to fall asleep that we don't even try to get them to go to bed together yet.

Wow! that's great!
not doing so well with the big boy bed here........He would rather sleep on the couch and then comes to our bed in the middle of the night. I put the better crib mattress in his toddler bed today.......
that might help.
