I have a theory about when babies start to crawl.
Humor me and tell me the month of your babe's birth and the month at which they started to crawl (also, if you could tell me the state you lived in when your babe started to crawl).
So, for me:
Lauren, born in June, crawled at 6 months, living in KS
Jonathan's not crawling yet.

i'm going to guess the crawling theory has something to do with what clothes the babies are wearing (depending on season)

bingo, but I don't have enough responses yet. i.e., samples size is not large enough. Think I'll cross post to market board.

i think you have to take into account cloth diapers vs sposies too

Miles-May-10 months-TX (actually learned to crawl on the airplane on the way home from a trip to France)
Quinten-March-not crawling at 8 months-CA (weather is still warm and he isn't bundled up by clothes at all)
I'd have to say my kiddos are just late at the mobility things. They both have cautious personalities-just something to take into account so we don't foul up your theory.

Cole - born in April, began crawling in October - 7 months (standing by 9 months, but didn't walk until 17 months)
Truman - born in January - he started crawling in October, and it's still just an army crawl, not on his hands yet - 9 months
They both started crawling in the same month of the year. hmm.
But honestly, Truman is a slow bloomer in other ways as well, so I think it's just his personality. He's just getting his pincher grasp to work, and he didn't really do much rolling over until he started almost crawling.
