OMG I can't believe I found a way to get them! They are awful all over right now because of where the vineyards are at in their wine making process. Everyone is having problems.

I was drinking a beer the other night with dh & they were just everywhere, getting into our beer especially. We were drinking a slightly fruity german variety. And then it hit me. So I got a tall glass, put the the last inch of my beer in there with a splash of apple cider vinegar with a funnel on top & VOILA!!! Three days later I've only seen 1 fly & I smushed him. Finally, the funnel method worked for me! I've tried every other concoction I've read about here & other places & they never really worked for me.

thanks for the tip...I despise fruit flies, they are nasty little suckers.

I hate when you think you've smushed one between your hands and then you pull your hands apart and the darn thing flies away.
