Hi all;
I am new to Amity and could really use some advice. My 3 year old daughter is having difficulty learning to use the potty. I had a baby (who is 13mos now), who was born during the optimal "training window".... I am seeing signs of readiness, but she is really resisting! Any advice? Thanks for any guidance! Donna

Are you willing to let her go bottomless? That's what worked for us. I did clean up my fair share of messes but that was over within a weeks time. We also had a grab bag of small 'prizes' (wrapped of course) for BMs. It took us probably 1-2 months to completely 'get' it down but man does it feel good to have the oldest potty trained.
Good luck!

ah, the potty.....
I was dreading this before I even had my daughter and I am now dreading having to go thru it all over again with my son.
There are so many ideas about what to do. The best ideas I heard were from a book entitled something like, how to potty train in a day. I strongly suggest finding this book and using it!! I used some of the ideas in it and it worked so much better than anything else I had tried. One main thing they say is that once you put them in underwear, never go back. This one was very hard for me but it paid off!! My daughter is almost 3 and she has a 10 month old brother so I know where you are. Another problem that I had was that I wasn't reminding her to go. I just expected her to be potty trained with no mistakes over night. Silly me!!
Do you have a specific problem? That would be easier to give ideas for.
Good luck!! It is a real patience maker!!
