View Full Version : Help me with co-sleeping with a toddler
Ron is waking up much earlier than I'd like him to, and if he's not trying to climb out of bed on his own he is pinching me or pulling my hair (this morning) and he thinks its hilarious when I say no or as was the case this morning shrieked with surprise. What should I do? I don't want to wake up whenever anymore..... He is still nursing 3-4 times per night, which I don't mind since I know its good for him, but I am so sleep deprived, and I have been for the past 14 months....
Sorry if this post seems a wee bit incoherent. Can anyone offer me any advice?

I dunno what you can d, aside from getting yourself to bed earlier so you're ready to get up when he does. :o Luckily Nigel *usually* sleeps till at least 6:30. Bu I know how hard it is to keep a 14-month-old in bed when he doesn't want to be there. I hope you find a solution that works for you.

Would you be able to put some toys in a safe area by the bed and see if he would play quietly? I've rarely experienced this since my kids are night owls so they sleep in. What about keeping him up a little later, would he sleep later in the morning? If not, like the other poster said, try to get yourself to bed earlier so you get more sleep. Sorry you're having to deal with this. How frustrating for you!!

we have a slated headbord so we have pillows strapped to it (my mom thought it was something kinky  ) and we stash books behind the pillows so DS can read them when he gets up before me and my sleeping beauty of a newborn.
we also have a chair set up si DS can get up and down on his own... DH closes the bedroom door before he leaves and this creates a safe play place
