Baby clothes are such a pain. Carters runs short and wide, gymboree long and skinny, gap kids is somewhere in between, whatever brand that makes those pooh PJs is short and skinny, gerber is wide and short but shorter and wider then carters.
I pretty much keep my babies in footed PJs till they are moving... which should never happen for Finn as he is never put down unless asleep He holds his head up good but tummy time bah... thats for babies who want to one day learn to crawl... why do that if mommy will hold you nonstop.
anyhow he doesnt like his toes curled up but PJs that are too big also dont work so I unpack a bunch of clothes and its fashion show for baby which he doesnt enjoy at all. Then its all just guess work... ok that ones too small and this one is too big and and and grrrrrr why cant clothes be rated by fit or something?
ahhh I feel better

i feel your pain! i have a 22 lb 6 month old that can't wear "baby clothes"...all the clothes that are size 18 months are for TODDLERS and they aren't soft and cuddly. He's busting out of 18 month sleepers mostly and there aren't ANY pants that fit on him.
whine away..i'm listening and whining with you!

at 2 months I pulled out the 3-6 mo stuff. I think I need to putt out the 6-9/12 mo stuff just 1 month later?
He isnt even tubby, he has fat rolls at the top of his legs and his ankles but nothing else... how on earth could this child be tall???? it isnt possible. I am 5' and Tony is 5'6".
well in my change out the clothes passion I did find the rest of Finn's halloween costume so I guess that is something.
The girl I loaned all the 0-3 and 3-6 clothes wants to bring them back... Guess I will have a sale soon

I feel your pain. Seth weighs about 25 pounds, but is quite tall for his age, with a very long torso. One piece outfits are always too short in the body but too long in the legs. I'm always rolling up his pants so he doesn't trip on them while walking. Maybe one day clothing designers will figure out that all babies aren't shaped the same.

I really like the childrens place for comforable infant clothing. Evan lives in zipper sleepers from there (he's 28" tall and 19 lbs and wears a 12 months size in those sleepers but could wear an 18 months size)... and he also lives in their l/s creepers with soft knit cargo pants with elastic waist... He's in a size 6-9 months for those but he should be wearing size 12 months in them :) After trying the zippers and creeper/pants combos we went out and bought enough that that is literally all he wears :)

Well, I don't pay any attention to the "sizes". I get what fits. And I only buy soft cuddly baby clothes. I am not putting my baby in toddler clothes at 3 months.

if only "getting what fits" were so easy

That's where you learn to sew. Because it doesn't get any better when they're out of the baby sizes. Try finding age appropriate clothing for a 6yo girl!

I can sew... its just all the help from the 2 year old that makes it not happen.
I suppose most of the under 1 year clothes were bought for us... so the brand was not my choice. I am super crazy and honestly use nothing but footed sleepers for nearly the 1st year, except for something special.
when I do buy clothes I am usually buying for 2 sizes up currently I am getting Miguel (2T) 5's and 6's. On sale stuff and things I like so I dont have pressure to get stuff because it fits even though I dont like it. This worked great when DH was going to take him to a hockey game and I had a jersey in the storage boxes already =)
Its just that darn organizing that gets me down. Now I have half my 3-6mo clothes out and half my 6-9/12 clothes out and no good way to keep up with what he has and has not outgrown.
Thanks for understanding mommas I need my ducks in rows and silly baby clothes shouldnt get me down

oh i feel your pain. Rowan is...well however old Finn is (14 wks? 15 wks?) lol and he is wearing 12 mnts! even without a diaper on, with he fits in 18 mnts fine except the legs are way to long.
i hate the fact that 99% of toddler clothes are adukt clothes shrunk....my poor baby doesn't need to be in cargo pants and old navy zippered pullovers. lol
this winter he practically lives in fleece zipper jammies cause that is the only comy things i can find in his size
on the other note bite carters and gerber fit my kids fine cause they are wide too :D
