I was thinking about them as I was falling asleep last night. I will make them! The only thing I am unsure of is how to make the evergreen crowns. I will do the little candles from clay, but the evergreen crowns are stumping me... probably just a little needle felted green wool...

Ok, I am going to do the Santa Lucia bendies. Now I have a rewuest for you, jodi, lol!! I don't know if you already had soemthing in mind for this swap, but if not, I would love it if you could make a bendy sized tray, with 2 mugs of cocoa/coffee (whatever, it would just need to be brown and could be cocoa, tea or coffee, lol), a couple of tiny plates and a couple of cinnamon bun type things ... for the Santa Lucia bendy to carry and serve to her bendy friends. I think that would be just perfect if you are up for more clay items! LMK :) (or at least make me a set, lol!)

I had absolutely nothing in mind - so I can do that :) I'm assuming you want everything able to come off the tray rather than be attatched, right? :happy:

It would be cool to have everything unattached, so the kids could have the bendy doll serving the drinks and buns :)

My thought is, i coudl send enough that you coudl attach them to a pretty branch, but you'd supply the branch.

i was thinking of making a set of sleigh bells on a felt strap (can you picture that?)that can be put around the neck of a wool horse or unicorn. of course - i can't make the animal so i am assuming that you have one. maybe i can make a horse's blanket too - not as beautifully embroidered as the one sherrie made me - but i can figure out something out. whadda ya think?

I am making wool felt pine trees on a branch block base with a blanket stitch embroidered around the edges - a set of two different sizes - probably on the smallish side to go with the bendy doll sizes...
Are the bendy dolls generally about 4" high or ????

Hi, I don't have a wool horse but I do have felt toys with a pattern so I could make one. I guess this is a good reason to do it!! Is it difficult to put a wire core in?

Well since someone was doing King winter I thought i'd do a mrs Thaw or winter fairy. We went with the winter fairy idea, and when Jaden and i finished the first one she said....she is Grandmother Winter (king winters mommy) :smirk:

are you sure this isn't the swap you are thinking about? the only other one is the tiny/magic one. unless they are teeny tiny igloos - this sounds like the swap you want?

Can't wait to see them! My Santa Lucia bendies were finished a while ago. Tonight I ran down here to turn on a "dot com" for McKenna and when I ran back upstairs, Holden had pushed the chair to the freezer, climbed up on top and had broken all the evergreen crowns and had chewed the heads all off the bendies. Every dsingel one. He is notorious for eating bendies (he also ate my scarecrow ones for the fall swap). Thankfully these are not beyond repair and I will have time to fix them since I haven't gotten everyone's boxes yet. But I specifically put them up high so he couldn't get them, the little monkey! :monkeydan

For some reason I had marked down to mail the tiny thigs and nature table together and then realized yesterday that they are organized by 2 different people.

yeah! my first bendies too! i always get nervous sending stuff i make! i usually run them by my friend first but this time i couldn't.

bonnie - wrong swap but please let me know when you get my tiny swap items. i just mailed them today. the guy at the post office did a HORRIBLE job taping it for me! he didn't even hold the sides together tightly - wait until you see it! if it gets there intact - with all the pieces inside - i'll be amazed!!!

I got my package today and half of the stuff was broken :wah: I hate the mail people! However, there is some seriously awesome stuff in there. Oh, and in case you didn't figure it out - the holes in the snowman are to poke stick arms into.

That's awful!! I packed those packages with tissue paper!! I wish I had had some more boxes, but I was all out and wasn't able to get to the PO to get more priority boxes (we couldn't even get near the PO the couple of times I tried to get there, once we did get in, they were out of boxes. Went to another, but ds had fallen asleep so we didn't go in :() And almost everyone shipped in mailers this time (I always save the boxes to reuse). I'll have to remember to stock up on boxes the next time I am at the PO just so I have them here and don't get stuck without them again :(

Sorry Bonnie it wasn't directed at you. All of the clay/fimo/sculpey stuff was destroyed though. But, I have my own sculpey and will just replace it so don't worry. I think Maya will love making the candy canes.

I know, but it still sucks :( I think the PO workers are so stressed this month with all the extra packages for the holidays that they are just tossing stuff around. Our regular mail carrier is great, as are the PO workers at the PO we usually go to. But this month I have been to 2 other POs, and have seen the workers literally throwing packages from where they are standing into bins/baskets behind them after the customer leaves. I've never seen this before, so I am guessing it is holiday stress, but that's no excuse!

The poor crowns :( They took forever to make too, because I made the first set then Holden broke them all and I had to redo them all at the last minute!
