I'm wondering if you have chosen some but not all of the recommended vaxes, which one(s) did you choose and why?
At 4, dd is still unvaxed and I'm happy with that decision. Dh is raising more questions about it, though, since she may start some kind of preschool. We have a pediatrician who's supportive of parents' choice, so I don't feel any pressure.

My daughter got most of her shots but I refused chicken pox and Prevnar and would have refused Hep B if I didn't have such a high exposure rate. My son hasn't really gotten any shots but my husband keeps nagging me about it. I lean towards no vax and he leans towards full vax so those were the three shots offered to our daughter that I had compelling enough arguments against for him. I also delayed vaccinating her until she was 6 mos. and would have happily waited until nine-months but since both of my kids were off breastmilk around 1 year I wouldn't want to wait too much longer. I liked the ability to comfort nurse after the shots and my kidlets just aren't much for extended nursing once they discover portable foods and their own mobility. Well, anyway, that's how we've done it, but if you can continue vax free without too much conflict in your home I say do so.

My oldest had all of the recommended vacs up to age 2. My second, up to age 7 mo. My youngest, none. Both of my older children have language and social deficits. I don't think it is 100% caused by vaccinating, but I think it is a factor.

If I were to selectively vaccinate at this point -- and I leave this an option -- I would do tetnus and polio since there are still no good for these diseases. And polio only if I was expecting to travel with the children. Both alternative and modern medicine have a lot to offer for chicken pox, mumps, measles, etc. There is always a risk, it is a matter of deciding which risks you will take.

My 4 year old was not vaccinated at all until he was 3. At 3, he was vaxed for just DT without the pretussus portion of the vaccine. I am happy with our decision...but definatly stressed about it when he was smaller. With number two on the way, I plan on vaxing for DT and HIB from about 18 months-2yrs....but that will be it.

Louisa is unvaxed so far, but we are considering eventually doing DT and polio. One difficulty with selective vax is that while mercury-free versions are increasingly available for the usual childhood vaccines, they are much harder to get in others. DTaP is usually available mercury-free, but DT is not (at least not for young kids).

First one got everything on schedule- so he was complete at eighteen months. Oy. Won't do that again. He has a varicella waiver, since the CDC site talks about how it doesn't work.

DS2 has a shorter list of vaxes. I don't know which ones he has. He won't get varicella.

Little girl will get them at an even slower pace, since she has a different ped than the boys. This ped is all about slow vaxing.

no varicella, but yeah, all the rest. Even if I didn't want to, they'll get it later, in the military, or travelling.
