I was wondering how you go about lining skirts or if you do it all? Would I be btter off making a seperate slip like skirt out of muslin? I got a really beautiful AH print from Joann's. Harvest Moon. But it is really see through and I want to wear to our pumpkin patch at church when I volunteer, and for Thanksgiving too.

Any suggestions?

It really depends on the style of the skirt. what were you planning on making?

I'm planning on doing Burda 8366 view B. I tried to post a pic but I can't figure it out. It's basically a ankle length skirt with drawstring waist.

What I usally do is to cut out one skirt of outside fabric than one of inside fabric(muslin or whatever). Put them wrong sides together and treat as one piece when sewing. :)

:ditto:
With the long skirts doing a lining that is only attached at the waist works well too. I tend to cheat with my long skirts in the winter though, and just have a bunch of all purpose petticoats (plain muslin skirts-- a few with ruffles) that I wear under everything.
