We (Me and both dd's) have been undergoing NAET treatments for the last three weeks. We found a wonderful practitioner who is also a medical intuitive. She is amazing. (I am not easily impressed) OUr health is improving...and we are eating more kinds of foods. I can't believe it. I was so scared to try new stuff after a year of eating such a limited diet. We were eating;

Rice-white and brown, peeled white potatoes, rice oil, garlic, leeks, red and green cabbage, brussel sprouts, black, white and garbanzo beans, lamb and chicken(we were formerly vegetarian), rice milk, tapioca starch, xanthan gum, salt and pepper, green beans, butter beans, split peas, maple syrup...I think that is it. no fruit-noone tolerated it.

We had extreme behavioral reactions and physical reactions. Red bottoms, red face, night waking, colic, huge tantrums(dd 1), depression(me), gastro intestinal distress....reflux for dd's, your basic hell and more. dd#2 has had one normal diaper in her life. Eczema and acne on dd#1 arms. We could not eat anywhere but home...never went out...and just lived a miserable existence afraid of food.

We have added apples, blueberries, raspberries, banana, cows milk(!!!), broccoli, salad, sweet potatoes....and today I tried egg. I have tolerated it, but dd#2 skin tested positive for it. SO~keeping fingers crossed that she'll be fine. It took me all three weeks to get up the nerve to try it even though egg is one of the first things they treat.

I am still breast feeding, we all look and feel a million times better. dd#1 can play on her own(which she was unable to do before) Her mood is wonderful. Even on a tough treatment day she is never half as bad as before treatment. I am so glad I stuck to my belief system and did not give up on breast feeding. Believe me, besides my husband I had no support.

dd #2 is tolerating applesauce~yay! she loves it and her tummy and bms are OK.

The treatments are tough. There is a strange list of avoidance with each treatment. It is really tough doing all three of us at once. However, it is so very worth it. SOme treatments everyone feels fine, other days one or all of us feel really yucky. But it ends when the avoidance time is over. Dd#2 has had to refrain from breast feeding for up to 10 hours on a treatment day~holy cow~ one day it was hard and the next time she had no problem.

I miss my dh so much. He is still home in New Zealand and we are staying with his family in the States. But, the positive far outweighs the negative. I wish I had just done it sooner.

Not one conventional doctor had helped us. I spent lots of money on Paeditric gastroenterologist and allergist etc.

We finally have help and I am so relieved. The money spent on NAET has made life worth living again. I am soblessed to be able to afford this.

Thanks for letting me share. You all are such a great support.

Added wheat and cheese. Ate in a restaurant~sandwiches and soup no problems. Eating Grilled veggie sandwiches on sourdough with avocado~yum~ Today Amy's pizza~Yippppeeeeeee! All is well.
11/27 We are eating everything including the dreaded 'egg'. Life is good:)

WOW, Linda. I am so happy for you all.

Gosh you make me wonder about going this route w/Jake. I have thought of it in the past and tried to get started with someone, in fact. But she never got back to me. :( One of Jake's assistants at his school last year did NAET with her dd who went from autistic to normal by preschool age. Amazing.

Thank you

Shifra~we are in New Mexico~near Dinabu and Momtosteen and mamatoabunch:)

It has been great in the States. Staying with IN Laws and they have been so supportive. I weighed 101 pounds and looked awful when I disembarked from the airplane:( I think that NAET has saved our lives also. We all look like a healthy family again. I actually don't want to go back to New Zealand. I am sure because I have been sick there most of the time we lived there, and I am regaining my health and life here in the States.

Lauren-if you do it, I would seriously research the practitioner and get recommendations. You can do that through Dr. N-the creator/founder. Find a really experienced practitioner. I know that my practitioner has worked with kids with Autism who now are not diagnosed on the spectrum at all...I am so moved by this whole experience that I am considering a career in NAET.(I am a Nurse) I don't know how/why it works but it sure does.

I have had a few eggs-and no problems with Aidra.(she skin tested positive for them a couple of months ago) She has had no reaction at all.We are going out for a Latte today and buying a loaf of bread from WHole Foods. I can't believe it. By the end of the week I should be able to try pizza in a *gasp* restaurant.

One interesting aspect to all of this is~
I am able to eat yummy foods again, but I am not craving them. No cravings at all. That is so fascinating to me. In the past I sure as heack craved bread. Today I will get to eat it, and I am excited, but I am not craving it. Strange. I am so looking forward to pizza:) Wooohooooooooo!

My In-laws who don't believe in any of this(hokus pocus) at all have even been quietly remarking on our progress. I know they are intruiged~lol. So an added side benefit is it might broaden their horizens a bit.

Yay!!!!

Oh, Linda, I'm sooooo glad for you! I started dancing around the room! I've been offline due to a computer problem, but I came here lookign for some kind of update from you.

ETA... we're successfully adding foods for Anders now (well, so far grapes and sweet potatoes! so now I'm eating rice, corn, pork, beef, blueberries, grapes, sweet potatoes, and rice flatbread)... but I still consider NAET. Was there a practitioner up here you were considering?

I seriously believe that NAET saved my Nate. He was diagnosed with ASD:NOS at 15 months old. He had lost his vocabulary, stopped walking (after starting to RUN at 10 months old), refused to eat pretty much anything so he lost 5 pounds.

He skin tested to allergies in a list as long as my arm. Thank goodness we have a very dear friend who had just completed his NAET level 3 and who took time out of his very busy life to come and, in my opinion, RESCUE Nathaniel.

Nathaniel is now 3.5 years old and has had his original diagnosis invalidated. He does still suffer from some sensory issues that we are working on in the near future. But, he's a brilliant child who is finally eating normally and can be taken into public without finding him with his shirt pulled up over his face humming to himself.

~L

Edited to add that sometimes the exclusions and avoidances ARE crazy difficult. But it's so worth it when you find your live veering back toward normal.

Oh that's great! I love rading about positive NAET stories. We started using NAET for Bryce when he was 4. I saw amazing results. She did awesome things for him. He'll never know the life he was spared :)

Thanks to everyone...we are still going strong. Adding more foods and doing really well.

It is wonderful to read the other success stories. Especially from people who did it a while back...it shows that the treatments 'stick'.

I just can't explain how far we have come in just one month. Yes, it has saved our lives!!!

Thank you sooo much for posting this! We visited a Kinesiologist 2 weeks ago and are doing an elim diet and parasite cleanse right now. When we go back we'll start NAET.

Would you mind posting or PM'ing me with details about the treatments?

That is great. I had wonderful success with NAET a few years ago. After many treatments my insanely stubborn yeast problem was 98% gone and I could nurse without any pain (huge big deal - I had been nursing in pain for nearly four years at that point). I still have occasional mild flareups, but they are NOTHING compared to what they were.

NAET was a really interesting experience. I can now tolerate cow's milk protein without reacting, though I choose not to consume dairy anyway. I used to have really uncomfortable and long-lasting reactions to cow's milk.

Glad you found it. Good luck.

Wow - Linda, I am so happy for you. I haven't been here in a long time, but you have always been one of my very favorite people.

Makes me really wonder about the Naet we did with Devin. It REALLY didn't help at all. I wonder if our doctor was a quack?!? Or if since his problems were mainly intolerances it didn't help? Makes me think I ought to check into some other docs for naet?

Delpha-you might not have gone to a good practitioner? You can search on their website~ I would only go to one who really sticks to NAET and if you can who has finished advanced 3 training. Where do you live?

BTW-we had all intolerances and one food allergy(egg) It works on it all. Aidra is now eating Wheat, Rice, Oat, Millett, Barley, banana, egg!!!, apples, sweet potato, carrott, plums, pears, cows milk...the list goes on...and I am not afraid to try anything new as long as we have been treated for it:) She has normal poos and no fermented smell. Poor thing-her formed poos really scared her the fist few times after a year of runny yucky poos.

You can email my practitioner and talk about NAET or the LA office and talk to them if you are considering it again.

Hope you are well.

Sillymommy-the treatments are really simple. The practitioner muscle tests you for something. And will treat if you need the treatment. There are a basic 15 that you need to complete. Each time you treat for something, you have a list of foods and substances you need to avoid and a list of those you can eat. When they treat you-you hold the vial containing the 'allergen' and the stimulate a series of pressure points on your back. Sometimes you need the pressure points more than once. You rest for 20 minuts...then your avoidance starts for 24/25 hours. Next time you are in the office, they will retest you and see if you are cleared of the allergen. If you follow the protocol you will. It is amazing-I know now when I will test weak or strong to something. I can feel the break in my energy field when I hold a vial before the muscle testing. So weird.

For the kids under five, I am the surrogate...they get their treatments before me. I hold the vial and everything is done through me while I touch their skin. Otherwise it is the same.

The founder has some books"Say Goodbye To Illness" and "Living Pain Free" that are helpful, I think. If you have more questionss~please pm me and I will help you more:)

honestly, I doubted him from the get go - and it soured me from investigating further. I will look into this more - in the meantime - I'm thankful that you found something that worked for you. :big hug:

oh! I am so glad that this is working for you.
And, even better, I've seen it work. Some women I used to work with, would do this at lunch- two were healers, one was a massage therapist-( a really gifted group of women I got to hang around)- and it really worked to keep them healthy and balanced in a very unhealthy, unbalanced environment. It was kind of spooky seeing their arms drop, on different bottles, on different days.

And- a friend went through this last year with her son who was sensitive to everything. everything. ev.er.y.thing. A strawberry touched to his face looked like it burned his face- not even eating- just touching. It helped.

I am so glad that you are getting better.

Selfishly, you should move back to the states, to my town, which is extremely cool

How wonderful that you found something that works. I've seen this mentioned on another group I'm on but didn't really think much about it. I've often wondered if some of my children's behaviors might not be food related. And we all have environmental allergies around here. It looks like there is only one level 3 in our area, if I looked it up right.

NAET works on environmental allergies too. You have to treat the basic 15 first(only the ones that you *need* and muscle test weak for). Lots of environmental allergies will dissappear when you treat for the basic 15 because they are components of the environmental stuff too.

Even before I went through NAET I was sure behavioral stuff was related to food. I was suicidal eating fruit!

There aren't that many level three practitioners. So, if you found one that is great. If they have gone that far then they are dedicated and should be good.
