I was serging along 3 days ago on my Kenmore, and up popped a broken pin or needle outta my fabric as it was feeding under the loopers. I stopped, thought I had broken a needle, looked and they were fine. Removed the needle point, threw it into the trash and went on serging.....lol
Never once did it cross my mind that I broke my serger. I thought since it wasn't a broken needle it must have been a needle or pin that I dropped into the machine, or maybe Summer did it.....lol
For three days now I have been fighting with the tensions, not getting it correct. So I get fed up last night, get out my Viking Huskylock and tear down the Kenmore. Use the Viking to make two raglans, and then decide before I make the other three I am going to MAKE my Kenmore behave.....lol (I really don't care for the Viking at all) I am one with my Kenmore.
So I break down the Viking, reset up and thoroughly clean the Kenmore and while double checking in the manual that I am threading it in the correct order, I notice the needle plate in the book looks different than mine. Take a closer look, and sure enough, the stitch finger is GONE! Yep in the trash where I threw it 3 days ago....lol
Thankfully it costs only $12 to replace, BUT TWO WHOLE weeks to get here! The said they could expedite shipping for a FEE. Hell, it was already $7 to ship that tiny thing, $7!!! How much they gonna charge to expedite $20?!
Guess I'm waiting 2 weeks or using the Viking. Anyone wanna buy a Viking Huskylock 1001L? I'm thinking of selling or Ebaying it and buying another Kenmore......
