Dh is starting a new job next week...YEAH! That means I'll be able to afford to buy two petticoats for my girls poodle skirts. I don't know if anyone on here sews them or can sew two for me....but if you can..I would be ever greatful. Ebay is expensive for practically NOTHING of a petticoat IF you can find in their sizes.
Is there anyone on here that would be willing to sew me up two of them? My girls are 6 and 7yrs old. Their really petite, like 36 and 39lbs and short. LOL. We're giving my mil a 50's surprise party on oct. 1st and need them to wear to it, and there will be a costume contest..so the girls really want their poodle skirts to stand out. My mil made the skirts last year for them...but I can't have her make them for two reasons, #1 thier for her party..and #2..her daughter has her sewing machine in houston making things for her wedding in december..so she won't have it back till then. lol. So, I'm willing to pay for them and for shipping! Please email me if you can do it, or pm me. They want them nice and full. I hope someone can help me out here. I may let them use them for halloween too..they were wanting to go as girls from the 50's anyhow. lol. Thanks!

I don't know if you've already considered this or what your budget is, but have you tried looking for a square dance supply store locally or on the internet? Children's square dance petticoats give much the same line as those tiered 50s poodle petties, and aren't prohibitively expensive. I found these two petticoats (http://www.dopasocorner.com/retailpetticoats.htm) (scroll down about 3/4 of the page), the smallest size of which might well fit your daughters and which come in multiple colors. And for $18 each plus shipping that's still probably less than it would cost to make them given the hours involved.

Anyway, just a thought.

When I worked at a bridal shop, we rented crinolines out for weddings. Maybe if you only need the cinolines for the one day, it would be cheaper to rent them than to buy.
