I am looking for some craft kits - much like Oriental Trading sells although I don't need bulk! Whitley is very into artsy stuff and I've been feeling lately like I don't want her to miss out on "crafts" by not going to school. LOL I need someplace online to buy thigns as Walmart is the only place we have around here. I did pic up a few things there the other day, some foam people to dress and some suncatchers to paint. I'd love more ideas! Thanks

What did you want to spend? Our Michael's has a ton of stuff on clearance now - kits and supplies. I also have some kit type things here I could send you.
Let me know if you want me to go shopping for you.
First, to answer your question: I thought this vendor was pretty neat at the HS convention: www.artinhistory.com I *had* to buy stuff, and I'm not a "kit" person when it comes to crafts.
We mostly just keep a lot of "art junk" on hand. Like toilet paper tubes, beads, pipe cleaners, yarn, paper plates.... Sometimes we find something neat in a book that we make -like a greek temple made out of boxes, paper and tp tubes. Sometimes, they just get happy on their with the popsicles sticks and glue and feathers (or whatever). Actually, they come up with their own stuff most of the time.
In fact, while I was typing this, Rowan interrupted me to get out the glue and some paper.

mamaxt - thanks for the link! I will check it out! We also keep a lot of pipe cleaners, googly eyees, etc. around here. She creates things most every day. Although she loves to create things, it's probably more for me that I want things to keep. It sounds SO silly but the only thing I get sentimental about not sending her to school is the crafts and papers she'd bring home for us to keep. So I want keepsakes and it's stuff she lvoes to do anyway. I'm a nut, I know. My dh laughed at me so I give you guys permission too. LOL
copmom - would you really do that???? I'd love you forever! I'm not in a huge hurry. I can't think of anything to get her for Christmas besides craft supplies and books, so that's what she's getting. :) What kinds of things do they have on clearance? Would $20 be enough? I can send you some paypal. She's 4 but is probably more like on a 6 year old level with her fine motor skills. She writes pretty well and can do those felt sewing kits, etc. Lacing cards aren't a challenge anymore. We have suncatchers, felt sewing kits, and that's pretty much what we have as far as kits go. I'd love some of those beads that you make designs out of and then iron, kwim? IF they are on sale. Or a weaving kit you make potholders out of. And anything else you think would be good that is on sale. She loves painting especially. Anything having to do with animals, nature or anything girly like princesses, flowers or butterflies. Anything!!!! Let me know and I'll paypal you. :) She'd love it! THANKS!!!!!!

Maybe your WalMart is different, but ours has a pretty decent craft section right by the fabric. I bought Blake a few craft kits there last Christmas...

Sure - send me your address. :) $20 before or after shipping?
How about foamies, girly stuff (cheerleaders and the like)? Wood shapes?
I'll make a trip over there in the next few days.
