anyone have a 2 1/2-3 month old who is rolling over regularly? Not trying to get him to grow up too quickly, but was wondering if this is something he ought to be doing yet.

i don't know what i would call regularly...but ds (almost 3 months) has about one day a week where we rolls from belly to back several times. Such a wide range of normal...I'm sure you have nothing to be concerned about!!!

Does he get plenty of tummy time? Beth is 6 months and not rolling over yet (to be fair she was 2 much early..so adjusted age is 4 months) I'm not worried though b/c I'm sure its just b/c I hold her way too much. Whenever I try to get her to play on her tummy she just face plants and cries till I pick her back up. I've been trying to get her to at leats lay on my chest and work her muscles like that - but really she is getting too big. In other ways though she is very stron...so I don't think there is actually anything wrong with her. I wouldn't worry..I'm sure he'll do it when he's ready.

Gwen didn't roll over until 4 months. She hated tummy time and didn't have much, but she was also late to get teeth and late to walk (13 mos)... but she is normal. I think ds is going to roll over much sooner. He is almost rolling at just a month.

Rowan is 5 weeks and already rolling from back to side...and occasionally all the way to his tummy but he's an active bugger and motivated to do things for himself it seems.
i don't remember exactly when lucien rolled over but i do remember it was fairly late. he was fairly late w/ all that stuff but he's a totally normal two year old now. :D

Enjoy it while you can! My almost 1 yr. old is into everything. I wish we could go back to the good old days when I could lay him down and he couldn't go anywhere!
Sylvie was rolling over until she got good and fat! Now, she doesn't even try. The other two did everything late. I don't think Phaedra rolled over with any regularity until more like 5 months, and she is a totally normal 3 year old now. She is just VERY cautious. She'll talk your ear off, but she tries gross motor things only when she is certain of success. Ezra was 7 weeks early, so everything was off for him until after 6 months.

Alannah is almost 3mo, and doesn't roll at all. She can roll from her back to her side (kinda), but that's it. She also HATES being on her belly, so I know that plays a big factor in it. It takes longer to go from back to belly than it does belly to back.
I wouldn't worry about it - every kid develops differently!

I think my Child Development textbook says "average" is about 4 months... Evan is 3.5 months and not rolling over yet either.
