Amanda's new pirate (the first one was lost so this one is a replacement and almost identical). Her son loves removing and changing their clothes so I made him an extra little jacket. I even whipped up a tiny wire hanger at the last minute :)

I have 2 more orders that are finished and going out on Monday. The photos I have so far of them are not that great so I'll do more professional shots outdoors in the morning. It's been a tough week. I'm tired and trying to get over a u.t.i. that doesn't seem to want to go away despite antibiotics :( Tomorrow I'm going to take some photos ( a chore in itself when doing them outdoors and fighting the stray mutt that has adopted us and who wants to trample all over me and my crafts as soon as I try to set them up lol and then Caden who just takes off up to Grandpa's house as soon as he thinks I'm not watching :) ) But after that I'm giving my butt permission to be glued to the couch for the rest of the afternoon :)

Amazing. I'm really loving that Pirate. How cool.

Sorry about your uti. Have you tried acidolphilus? I know most use it just for yeast but my dr suggested it for any intestinal upset too. Hope you're on the mend soon. ((hugs))

Thanks Katie. I should go buy more acidolphilus. I've had success with it in the past. I'm prone to get u.t.i's often. A few years ago I had 9 in one year. I've had 3 since this past March and then one last December.. can't remember how many I had throughout 2004. It's been about 4 years since I saw a urologist. They couldn't give me any clue why I get them so often. The worst thing is that I no longer get any warning signs of them. I use to know a day or 2 ahead. I could feel a dull ache... just a strange feeling... in my pelvis and I could get the meds before it got painful. Now... I'm feeling fine and then I pee...and by the time I'm headed out the bathroom door the spasms and discomfort has me near tears. I keep pain meds and 1/2 dozen antibiotics on hand at all times...then I phone the doctor and they call me in more with extras to have on hand for the next time it hits.

When I was healthier (ate less meat and more organic...and was diligent about exercising) I noticed a big drop in u.t.i's I think it's time I start being more productive in preventing them. This last one has been the worst so far. Normally all symptoms are gone after 48 hours on meds. It's been days (can't even remember how many right now.. I've been so busy and not sleeping well) but I still feel the spasms after I pee. They are dull but still there. I increased antibiotics to 4 x a day rather than 3. I'm almost out of them. I'll have to call in another round and I bet the doctor is going to want to see me. ugh.

What a topic for the craft forum! Pirates and Pee lol

love your sig pic too :)

looking at that extra jacket up there bothers the heck out of me. My stitching is all wonky looking. I wasn't on crack when I embroidered it lol. I'm thinking that piece of felt is only 20% wool. Regardless of how evenly I placed my needle for the next stitch... pulling the thread made it shift. I couldn't keep my stitches nice and straight like I can with felt that has a higher wool percentage. And my needle holes were more obvious which doesn't happen with some of my other felt.

Just had to explain that but not sure why :hahaha:

In my defense I'm on meds and suffering from lack of sleep (among other things according to my husband) lol

 Oh hush! He looks great and his jacket does too! I'm amazed seeing your work! I thought you could only get dolls at Walmart! (gasp!) I'm so sorry about the UTIs! I used to get yeast infections monthly! If I used the wrong soap, if my ex used soap on his area, if I took antibiotics, It was horrible! I hope you can find a solution! Do you drink enough water? I found that was very helpful when I was having girly issues. If you are flushing out toxins constantly, then maybe they won't stick around long enough to cause trouble? I'm rambling... it's late! Hope you get better soon!

Bah! You're being too hard on your work. Nature of the beast tho with crafting mamas. LOL. I understand but you're really being too hard on it. ;)

I had chronic yeast and uti's when I was younger. Started with my first visit from af and ran constant until college. Once in college it would flare up just after my cycle. Then I found my acidolphis prescribing dr.

Get this, I was/am allergic to Charmin tp. One single visit to my mom's bathroom to this day can make it flare up instantly. Freaky.

I took acidolphilus after every period for about 2-3 days for 2 years. Now I don't think I've had acidolphilus for about 5 years or more.

Oh, I used to slam the cran juice thinking that would help. It does, but it has to be sugar free. I didn't know the sugar content in regular cranberry juice is food for the yuckies associated with yeast and uti's.

That's all probably tmi for the craft forum but maybe it's something simple like your tp too. ((hugs))

you can try cranberry capsules, too. I found that a bath with lavender essential oil in the water helps a lot, too. I take a LOT of LONG baths when I have UTIs.. Gods, I hate UTIs... Iam sure there are more painful things (ok, labor comes to mind... but it STOPS) I am sure you know, but be sure to drink more water than you ever wanted... it feels better to pee SOMETHING than NOTHING and it helps flush ya out...

((hugs))

oh, the pirate is gorgeous and I love the colors of the family... so pretty... I will email you in a few minutes ;)

Katie. I've tried the cran juice too and just couldn't handle it. As much as I have tried to pinpoint possible causes of my U.T.I's... I just can't do it. My diet seems the be the biggest culprit but I still got them even when eating a very healthy, vegetarian diet but I didn't get them nearly as often... maybe twice a year?

And it just keeps getting better. I now have a yeast infection from the antibiotics. I almost always get them if I don't take acidolphilus.

Selena ~ thank you. I didn't know about the cranberry capsules. I'll need to look into that when I go to the hfs this Thursday. A bath with lavender sounds so nice. Unfortunately with 5 kids and one bathroom, nice lingering baths never happen around here unless I want to do it around 1 in the morning. I'd probably fall asleep and near drown myself lol I guess I can have Rex take the kids somewhere for half hour so I can soak. Lord knows if I'm behind a door and Caden isn't with me...he'll be on the other side screaming his little head off and yelling, "Mama... In!" :)

What a neat pirate! He looks great, your stitching is fine. If it were perfect, it wouldn't be handmade, you know? The family is wonderful too, so perfectly woodsy. :)

I feel your pain on the UTI, I had one last week, and I'm done with a 7 day course of antibiotics, but I still feel "funny." Like I constantly have to pee, and my bladder feels odd. I'm not in pain, but it's annoying. I'm thinking I will see the doctor tomorrow if I don't feel better. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much Shelly :) I feel a doctor's appointment in the near future for me too. I hate going. I've gone so many times for the same thing and they can't do anything different. But my doc doesn't like to keep calling in refills. I can understand but it's just such a chore to go to the doctor's office because i have all my kids with me. Hey... perhaps I should feed them chocolate and coke on the way and then tell them to go have a blast when we get there lol... Bet the doctor would call in any prescription I wanted after that ;) :hahaha:
