We have been able to come up with a manageable curriculum for 2nd grade. For language arts we got it down to:

OPGTR (Just started)
Italic
R&S 2 Spelling with daily spelling games
English for the Thoughtful Child (Love this One)
Level 2 readers

I like English for the Thoughtful Child because it was so short and to the point. You might also want to look at Primary or Intermediate Language Lessons next. I used both EFTTC and Intermediate Language Lessons this past year with Austin and we both were ok with them. ;)

Yes it does feel good. I love the short lessons in EFTTC. It is a great introduction to "English" for him. I definately will look at Primary Language lessons when we get close to finishing this book.
