My dh B and I are working hard every day to improve the site in anyway we can. We are serious about keeping/making the sewing forum a fun, helpful and super active place, and would LOVE to receive any suggestions you have in that regard. Either post here in this thread, or PM one of us (Brian's user name is JustB, and tech stuff is best directed at him)

So fire away, and we'll try to start making things happen!

I love it just the way it is. We could have some contests, not sure what kind, but maybe something not quite as long as the stash game, and have them maybe every couple of weeks.

I really think the contests help people to feel more involved:). I also would love to see us have more of the sew alongs that the older members are always talking about, where everyone gets their supplies by a certain date and sews along together and then shows their finished product. I know I could do a sew along for a head scarf thingy (it has a name that starts w/ a B,LOL) w/the plastic headband sewn in if anyone is interested:)

I'd be interested in that Becka.

Would there be interest in a gored skirt sew along done the same way.

Those group sew alongs were one thing that got me involved in the sewing forum when I first came here.

I am all for group sew-alongs. I think that is such a great idea! I can definitely see myself participating. I think it would be fun too, to maybe have a brush-up type sew-along for some sewing methods we don't frequently use.

I love the group sew along idea! It has been a long while since I saw one of those in this forum.

I have another suggestion. I would LOVE to see a pattern review forum here. I know there is a whole website for pattern reviews (and I do lurk there from time to time and go there for info) but I would especially love to see the pattern reviews that Amity sewing mamas would post, kwim? I'd hope to see lots of nursing and maternity clothes reviews, sling patterns, cloth diaper patterns, mama pads, tee pees, baby and kids clothes, of course.... you get the idea. And you know how it seems everyone gets on the bandwagon when someone posts about a great pattern? Wouldn't it be nice if there were a review forum where people could post and there they would be for future reference. Kind of how there are the Sewing FAQ and Sewalong forums. I like having those there.

i think pattern reviews and sew-alongs both sound fun. how far ahead of time would the sew-alongs be scheduled? maybe they could be scheduled for a particular time, ie, first thursday of the month or something, so people would know when to check for them.

i'm in need of a gored skirt. :)

I'll start another thread w/a picture I made of one in a couple of days (my monitor keeps freezing up when I try to up load my pics, I think I need a new one)
