I have a Feria hi-lift browns color kit, hoping to be able to use it to lift black dye from my normally blonde hair when I'm ready. I'm enjoying the black for now, but I'm sure I'll be sick of doing the roots in a matter of months.
So my question is: will this work? It says "exclusively for dark hair", but it also says it will work for *naturally* black hair. Since mine is colored, will it not work?
If not, what's your best recommendation for going back to au naturelle?

I've always heard that you cannot remove color from hair with a bleach or lightener. I've never tried it though. I did use some color remover once though, and that worked. Well, it kind of worked. It removed the dark color, but my hair was really uneven, but it was because I've dyed my hair and highlighted it too many times. lol Next time I want to go from dark to light I'll go to a professional.

that you mentioned, but I do know (having witnessed it myself two weeks ago) that using a professional grade (bought at Sally Hanson's) color remover on black hair that is natually blonde did awful things to it. Awful, awful. My 14 year old sister got the idea to dye her naturally gorgeous blonde hair blue/black (against advice from all) and then got tired of it. I was told once that blonde hair (because of the lack of dark pigments naturally) will hold color stonger/longer than those of us with dark hair. Which meant, black dye came right out of my naturally dk. brown hair, but on hers, it left it a brassy, orange color that she still hasn't been able to cover back up.
Again - this was professional grade stuff bought at Sally's, so while it's not "pro" I'm thinking it was as close as two lay-girls to get to it. I have no professional knowledge mind you, only 14 years or so of coloring my hair, both at home and in salons.
I'd say go to a salon and see what they think about taking that black off/out. It's not terribly hard to burn your hair/scalp if you use too much "bleach" in it, and as my sisters hair will testify to, all the Aussie conditioner in the world won't take the feeling of burnt hair away.
Let us know either way - I hope I'm wrong and what happened to Casey was just a fluke :)
