She gave me no choice. This child, who I didn't know could reach like that, grabbed it right out of my hand and chowed down before I could stop her. So, naturally I took it away and OH BOY you should have heard the fit. So, I gave it back to her thinking she would drop it. Nope. I tried offering toys, chewies, ice chips, my finger, her binky, even the breast. Not gonna cut it. She wanted the peach. I put a chunk in the food safe feeder and gave it to her. She sucked on it for about an hour before I had to put her in the tub. :sigh: Anyone else with an early eater? Finn was over a year before he was interested in food. This child will be out eating me by then, lol.

Sometimes they just know what they want! I hope her little bum doesn't pay for it! LOL

Si was four mos old. He had been eating every two hours since birth, sometimes less... and I mean around the clock. So, let's say he started a nursing session at 4 a.m. and finished at 4:30 a.m., he was eating again at 6. After about 4 mos. of this, I was pretty much insane. I went to visit my mum and she said he needed some solid food. I argued with her for a couple of days and then gave in. He slept for four blessed hours, lol. He LOVED solid food,
Lilly was a completely different story. At 6 mos, I tried giving her a little nip. She wanted nothing to do with it. She was nearly 8 mos before she showed any true interest.
No flames here. Every kid is so different. As far as food allergies go, Si is only lactose intolerant and since both his father and I are and my five sisters are also lactose intolerant, that totally makes sense. Lilly, even though she was much older when she started solid food, has reactions to peanut butter/nuts, strawberries, and is lactose intolerant.
Go figure.

i will not be giving O solids before she is 1 due to family allergies, but i do think she wants food already. She is very attentive to me when i eat. she watches the food go in my mouth, get more off the plate, etc.. All the signs that say she want solids, just like ds did. This lady is out of luck though. :)

no flames- i think it's cute!
faith would have no idea...she's just now finding her tongue. I'm beginning to wonder if she isn't a bit slow. She just isn't reaching milestones my other kids reached and she sure isn't keeping up with her peers here. Hrm...gotta think about this.
Gwen while I'm OT- are you still looking for solarveil scraps?

Wasn't she a bit early too though? Alannah was only 3 weeks early (not quite even) and she's "behind" also - though still does everything that she should. SHe was VERY floppy as a newborn, and just now at 2.5mo is she getting good head and upper body control - though still a bit unstable.

I wouldn't worry too much. If she was early you have to subtract those weeks from her age to determine milestones. Like, if she was 4 weeks early, that's a MONTH difference. So a 3mo would really only be doing 2mo stuff, kwim?
I am still looking for solarveil scraps. Do you have some? :D. I would love to have them.

jackson watches very intently when we are eating. i'm sure he's going to get grabby really soon. i don't plan on giving him solids anytime soon but i have a feeling he's going to be that child that just grabs some food and shoves it in his mouth.

I had to stop eating with Anders anywhere near me... by 4 months he was sitting unsupported, grabbing my food, watching the fork go from my plate to my mouth, etc, etc.... BUT he had food allergies and so I was waiting. We held off for a LOOOOOONG 4 months and started solids at 8 months. It was really hard, I felt like I had to sneak my food, or I felt so bad. He REALLY wanted food. Of course, when I finally gave it to him, it's taken months for him to get really into it. (and that's not helped by the very limited variety because of food allergies....)
