Rowan spits up sooo much more than Lucien did..Lu jsut spit up little bits...Rowan spits up pretty large amounts pretty often. but he doesn't seem to be in pain. can he have reflux and not hurt from it?

he's peeing and pooping plenty and gaining wait so iam not worried about...don't know what i am worried about to tell you the truth

Zakk had terrible reflux, he used to spit up TONS (I went through burpers and shirts like crazy with him) but he never seemed to be that uncomfortable and didn't have trouble gaining weight. We did end up using Zantac on him because the upper GI showed everything came right back up - but he was a happy spitter-upper :) Reagan spits up less than Zakk but is much more miserable with it than he was, but she seems to be outgrowing hers faster than he did. Honor was the other extreme - never, never, never spit up :) Just make sure you have extra burpers when you go out - I swear Zakk timed his biggest spit ups while I was shopping and at my best friends Christmas party !

savannah never spit up..ever. jackson is always spitting up. sometimes it bothers him and other times he doesn't care at all. i just started him on zantac this past tuesday night because i found no relief from eliminating dairy. but...my nephew harrison spit up all the time and it never bothered him.

All 4 of my kids were terrible spitters (lucky me, huh?). It never bothered any of them and they all gained weight, had pees/poops, etc. All in all they were extremely healthy kids. My youngest, Seth, is now 11 months old and rarely spits up anymore. He has a couple of times this week but it's been over 100 here and I think he did it more because of the heat.

I never worried about it, never took them to the doctor because of it, etc. I figured that some kids just spit up. Now, if they would have had trouble gaining weight, I would have taken them to find out what was wrong. But, since the older 3 kids were all around 25 pounds at a year old I figured they were doing quite all right! :)

Selissa,

I was going to post this same thing! LOL...Ella is spitting up quite a bit and I am wondering if it's reflux. Ughhh...I just feel so terrible. I am giving it a couple of weeks and if it doesn't resolve (I eliminated dairy starting yesterday, because she HURLED a few hours after I had a ton of chocolate...shhhh), I'm taking her in as well.

I worry most at night :eyes: .

Good luck with Rowan...

Have you measured it? I was worried about Anders when he was wee... so I caught it in a measuring cup :) they say "normal" spit up is a tablespoon or so, and it looks bigger because liquid spreads. Anders was truly vomiting---1/4 cup or so, which was probalby most of his nursing. He didn't do it every feeding, but enough that it worried me. Going completely dairy free stopped it.

Last week Isabella would stuff her self and throw it up and cry for more, silly girl, I remember my others doing it too. Then a growth spurt would happen most times, seems they are building up more of a supply for the upcoming spurt? She spits up every three feedings I would say. She is also always burping or tooting since she stll breaks suction alot.
