I want to get my hair cut so that it short in the back but longer in front. I have looked but I can't find any good pictures to take to the salon. Oh and my hair isn't straight-more wavy, curly in the front. Anyone know what I am talking about?

It's usually referred to as an inverted bob. Or if you want it a little more severe, an A-line bob. A-line is where it goes from short and high in the back to long (usually chin length) in the front. You can have with or without bangs. An inverted bob without the severe A-line just has some stacking in the back and the front is either just cut up to the length you want and left one length or layered. Wish you could come over here and I would do it for you!!! Now that I quit working, I miss doing hair. Plus I only charge about $15 for a style haircut from my home. Although, I don't know anyone to cut my hair, so I have to pay about $35....that just bites!! I need to meet some other hairstylists that will cut my hair at home....anyway...good luck, hope you get what you want!! I say go in for a consultation and tell them what you want without using the terms I just told you and if they use them, then they know what you are talking about. If you don't think they know what they are talking about, run--I mean casually walk away and try someone else.

When I was looking for my new haircut a while back, I did a Goodle search for hair cut or hair style and found 1000s of free pictures. I printed a couple that I liked and took them to my hair lady. What are they called nowadays? Back when my mom was licensed, they were "hairdressers" or "cosmetologists".
