Hi!~

I will start my venture of hsing my 9 year old dd due to anxiety issues...only at school...not anywhere else.

It looks good and easy.
1 lesson a day in Saxon
2 hours of independent reading...you go down a list of 128 books ...all are older and have harder vocabulary.
And she needs to write 1 page a day on whatever she wants...

Sounds easy. Just wondering if you have used it or know anybody how has. My dd loves workbook and doing things, so I'm not sure that this would work for her.

I just don't want to bring the stress of public school into our homeschool!!

I was looking at it yesterday for a little bit. I like that a lot of it is self-directed so the child learns to learn.

No experience, though. sorry!

It's been around for a long time, so search homeschooling boards to get some feedback on how it works in real life. I know it's largely CD based, so think about how you want your dd to learn and how she learns best when she's interested in finding out about a thing, KWIM?

Some people have issues with children spending alot of time with a computer for their learning, these are the kind of things you think about when choosing a curriculum . . . how do I want our learning to be? What is important to us in education? What are our goals?

Start with this kind of evaluation, then find a curriculum to suit your family - we're all different :) . Good luck on your journey, it's been a wonderful one for us for the last 13 years.

The kids are not to use computers!! Or have sugar (which I agree, but it's hard at times).

The CD's are the books for the parents to print out...still lots to think about!

Wow, really? I had no idea those were books for the parents to print out . . . I'd heard they were older, and in some (most?) cases out-of-print books, but I didn't know that one was to print them out!

Hmmm, learn something every day :) .

we used it for a couple of months. i think if i had started máire with it, it would have gone over better - but i was at that stage that we were trying anything and everything and had been for a year. its a good concept and i admire the man for coming up with it (especially after losing his wife) but it just wasnt for us.
