rowan is almost three weeks old now.
he has dry skin on his face. you can't see it when it/he is dry but when he the skin on his face gets all cloudy and grey. the dry skin comes off easily with a wet wash cloth.
does this sound like allergies? cradle cap gone wild? ezcema? something else entirely?

Olivia had/has this Selissa. I didn't even know it was there until one day when I washed her and it all came sloughing off. I was able to rub it all off of her forehead with a washcloth. Upon closer inspection I noticed that it was still under her eyebrows and it was also under her hair. I decided that it was a type of cradle cap - a mild kind. Evan's was the crusty ickly kind so that is what I was looking for - nothing like this.
Also, I was told the cradle cap can be a sign of allergies and I am going to take ours as a warning. It can't hurt anything. Plus, with Olivia's recent sore ear and DS history of food allergies from infancy through today I am going to do what I can to try and help her not be in the same boat.
HTH! and keep a scrubbing! I am using a finetooth cob on her head to get the rest off and it comes off easily but there doesn't seem to be an end right now!

As long as it just wipes off easy, it sounds like plain old dried skin to me. Isabella has right now a patch on her forehead that is shedding lol Cradle cap is hard to get off and ezczema is patchy hard dry skin.
Sylvie peeled for close to two months, and it was pretty much like you describe. Just give it time, and it will go away, or do what I did and rub some yummy baby oil or cream on him just because it might make mama feel better. :)

Mark has cradle cap in the traditional spots, but he also has cradle cap in his eyebrows  if thats possible. His eyebrows are all flakey. Seems to wipe off every now and then, then it flakes up again.
Seems pretty normal so far. ;)
