I want to put Gracie in something where I don't have to change her in the middle of the night. She has a bit of a long rise... For instance the prorap newborns are fine around the waist, but not length-wise and are starting to pinch her thighs a tiny bit.

Suggestions please :)

wool! an infant predols iwth a premie prefold or a hemp and a wool soaker or wrap is leak proof...and if you have dampness in the mornig you can put a wool doubler in the wetzone for extra protection

I use pocket diapers that I've made for DD...some of the are Fuzzi Bunz style (with snaps) and others are Happy Heiny's style (with Aplix). We stuff them with microfiber towels and they work great :)

sugarpeas makes a nice reasonably priced wool wrap, stacinater is a good wrap as well...my soakers i knit so i don't know about wahms but the best night time soakers are made out of a heavier weight worsted weight yarn. and ime Merino works but not nearly as well as regular wool...it gets much wetter through the night lol

Hmm... I do have one HH. Maybe I'll try it with a microfiber soaker. Gracie is pretty ggod at exploding out the sides though, lol.

Well, I crochet :) Where do you get your wool yarn from? Would JoAnns carry it?

i'm sure joanns carry's yarn...i hear as far as comercial yarn goes cascade 220 is good..but i don't know cause i only use sheep friendly small farm yarn.

Little Turtle knits sells great yarn, all her worsted weight yarns make awsome sturdy soakers. the yarn is alittle rough at first but blooms beautifully after being washed and lanolized a couple times.

you can also get good yarn at the fabric connection...another amity wahm

oh yeah and crochet is even better for soakers because of the thicker fabric. Dandelion dreamers has a great crochet soaker pattern on hyena cart.

I'm using a regular (blue stitching) prefold folded down in the back and a preemie prefold inside that snappied with a wool cover (aristocrat is my first choice for night time) over it. If I change her after 11, I skip the preemie prefold.

She's usually soaked in the morning, but nothing else is ;)

Just be sure it's not a print...they *will* wick! Print HH's are cute for daytime and showoff diapers, but for a nighttime diaper...not so much, LOL!

I'm doing all that except the wool cover. I guess I need to rethink the cover.

Thanks for all the good info Selissa! I found a free pattern online I'm going to try first to make sure that my crocheting skills are good enough :) I'm going to try some acrylic yarn I have here at home first to see if I can do it, lol.

Ok, off to take Si to swimming!
