I'm heartbroken!
I can't get my machine to work right.

I suspect it's a tension thing, but I honestly have no idea. Nothing *happened* it just started doing this.

It sews the top thread straight across and that looks fine, but the bobbin threads that come up and make that little loop from underneath are visible from the top.
So, it has ----<-----<----<---- like that insted of a regular stitch.

I messed with the tension knob and re-threaded it and even tried a different bobbin. What's the deal? :wah:

I dunno :( Have you tried de-fluffing where the bobbin sits? Sometimes a bit of fluff or a small piece of thread can throw things off. Is it regularly every so many stitches? The bobbin thread might be getting caught on something as it goes around the bobbin each time...

good luck!

Like Ana said, if it's regular (the loop coming up is regular), something is probably catching. Switching the bobbin like you did was a good idea, also getting in there with a bright light and making sure there's no fluff or thread.

Also run your finger around the whole bobbincase assembly and make sure you haven't developed a little burr somewhere. Check the hole in the needleplate with your finger to make sure there isn't a rough spot there catching the thread. If you do have a rough spot, this is fixable, don't worry.

Also never hurts to try a brand-new needle.

Yep - tried a new needle, too.

BUT - it very well could be a fluff issue :) I'll have to get upstairs and try some compressed air in there or something - just to be sure.

(And yes, it's regular and it's definitely the bobbin thread just acting up - occasionally I'll get a big birdsnest back there, but mostly it's just the loopy bobbin thread showing it's ugly head) :)

Thank you kindly! :)
