I saw the yellow toille in a remnant bin and it was SCREAMING to be made into a bag so I found some matching denim and ribbon to go with it. As I was planning the bag and thinking it over, it seemed like it would make a nice gift for my SIL since she just had a new baby and every mama with a new baby needs a new diaper bag, right? I don't really know her very well.....not sure if it's her style or not. But, I LOVE this bag!!! I want to keep it but don't need ANOTHER bag. It kills me to think she might not love it as much. So......do I send it to her? Or make something else for her and save it for another mama who I know will LOVE it? She lives far from me and I'll probably not ever know if she likes it or even receives it (not big on thank yous or such).

Oh......this bag, detail-wise, is my best --- I love the stiffness of it (thanks Julia/oceanna for tips), and the pockets came out really well (hard to tell in pics).

that's a super bag, i can see why you'd be torn...i love that fabric too - i had a mama make me an abc/meitai out of it :)

If you really love it that much, make her a little baby outfit and keep the bag. :) It's lovely. I bet she wouldn't even know that you made it unless you told her.

lol I made a diaper bag out of that exact fabric for a mama on the market board about 1.5 yrs ago. It was very, very hard to mail off. : )

that is a gorgeous bag! i am sure she would love it, but ime alot of people don't quite get the value of handmade gifts. i think i'd keep it. :monkeydan

It is so pretty - you have a very lucky SIL if you are even thinking about giving it to her! I can't imagine anyone NOT loving it, but she might not appreciate it as much as someone, oh, I don't know, like *me* would :D

I can see why you're torn! It's a beautiful bag. Hopefully if you gift it your SIL will be over the moon and so grateful, but I vote that you keep it for yourself if you love it that much. I recently gifted a bag that I loved and hated to part with to a friend and have yet to received either a thank you or a why'd you send me this dumb thing... Makes me wish even more that I'd kept it.

I say keep it and send her something else. She'll never know. A girl can never have enough bags!!!!

Oh - I love it too - it's fabulous!!! Great colors :0) Personally...I think if you really love it...you should give it to someone you know who will really love it too...that way you get to see it all the time!

I made a bag for a friend, really outdid myself, and gave it at her baby shower. Everyone fawned over it, called me an artist, etc.. I've only seen it used once. It hurts a little, but I know I crafted my bag with love and prayers for my friend, so it's hers. KWIM??
