For those of you who sew Waldorf dolls or other cloth dolls, do you use the machine to sew the pieces together, or piece them by hand? If by hand, what stitch do you use? I tried making a TY knock off doll, and sewed it by hand. I dont think its going to hold up, and I would love to make more of these the *right* way.
Also any book recommendations appreciated. :)
Thanks!

I've used my machine as well as by hand.I have found if I trace the pattern, sew, then cut them out it works better for me.You could even put some stabalizer in there to help it stay straight.
I love these books, totally worth the money IMO:

I use the machine. It works better for me if I slide a piece of gift wrap tissue paper under the hands and feet so the material slides nice and I can be more precise.
I like the Kinderdolls Book a lot. There are so many dolls in it and more clothes patterns than I thought there would be.
Have fun!
