dh went back t work today... only a half day

so far so good. it isnt a good idea to have the newborn in the sling and pick up the 30lb toddler.

i need suggestions on going to the bathroom... the toddler is refusing to go with me, he wants to play with the newborn

yeah that's what i do too...put the babe on a pillow in the bathroom wityh me.

do you have a bassinette? i put jackson in there sometimes...
or a bouncy seat in the bathroom?

just put him in your bed and lock the bedroom door and deal with a screaming toddler for the 2 minutes it takes to pee.

I had some carrier or safe place for Vivi in the bathroom so Veronica couldn't get at her. I have also nursed on the toliet but, hey, probably half the women here have done that!

well since Finn came so early we dont have all of our stuff found yet. We are missing a piece from the packandplay so the bassinet currently doesnt work.

My downstairs bathroom is just a half bath so no place to put a pillow and a baby except on the floor.

Toddler screaming would prevent me from being able to relax enough to do my business....

well things went ok it was only a half day

today dh is back at work full time, wouldnt be as scary had last night not been so bad. finn wants to suck all night, he prefers his thumb, but he is just not that coordinated. when the pacifier falls out he wakes and fusses.

the fussing eventually resulted in miguel waking and wanting to also nurse, i turned him down which turned him into the nipple grabber... this doesnt help me sleep at all.

i cant sleep and nurse the newborn, pretty much it was bad

we are also in the process of moving our day forward a little... miguel doesnt want this.

dh suggested moving miguel to his own room this morning, i dont think this is a good idea.

lets see if i survive today, never wished for family in the same state as bad as i do now.

i know exactly how you feel. i've been alone al day since 4 days pp it's rough at first.

the only sufggestion i can make, what helped for us the most was getting as closely back t to the toddlers original day plan/schedule as possible. this really helped Lucien cope wit hthe new baby and a calmer toddler was much less stressful for me.

oh and two minute nursing limits when i am feeling touched out.

well 2 full days alone and 1 half day. I am doing pretty good.

Unfortunatly the nights stink.

DH is sleepy and its just too hard to be up with the baby while he snores away. With DS #1 he would read to me while I nursed. This time he is falling asleep mid page and its making me rather cranky.

my mama leaves next week, and dh starts his summer classes, so it will be sun up to sun down with all three.
