I mapped it the other day when I found out where Ashley was moving. I'd love to come visit and meet up with both of you, but it would have to be a bit more central. According to mapquest, Ashley is 6.5 hours from me. I could easily to 3.5 to 4 hours. I think that Selissa is closer to me as it is more a direct route.

But, I agree - weekday. Let's see if we can't find a location and then set a date!

I live in Ft Wood now, my dh is in the navy, however! What unit will he be in? :)

What about Springfield? That's about 4 hours for me, I think close to Selissa, and probably an hour and a half for you. Selissa, is there anything to do there?

yeah i live in springfield so that woudl be perfect for me since i can't drive anywhere during the week (dh works two jobs)

the pay stuff is a nice zoo, an ice skating rink, a kids hands on learning museum, a civil war history museum (with lots of great trails for hiking)


free stuff; kiddie pool, fountain that everyone can play in, more hiking, duck pond, rivers and lakes for camping, hiking, or just hanging out and picnicing etc


i jsut know that there is more thati am fogetting right now...hmmm...

oh there is also Branson about an hour from here that has all sorts of touristy type stuff to do. shopping, a ripley's believe it or not museum etc...Silver Dollar City and White Water are also about an hour from here.


but that gives you an idea anyway

well shoot, i have lived here for 3 years and never knew all that stuff was in springfield! we always just go for olive garden and the mall. When i was pg, thats all i crazed!! yumm! Tulane mama, where will yall live while he is obc? i think you can only live in housing and post lodging if they are perm party here? thats just form experience i have heard about with others? wait, i think i am confused, are you already here on post?

My Dh received a special waiver due to circumstances (going to Iraq right after graduation and we have a new baby).

oh awesome! thats so good that they are working with yall! hope you like it here! i have been here for 3 1/2 years and i am still getting used to it! if you need any info on where to go for stuff let me know!

Ashley, I know the LLL leader over there in Ft. Wood. Her name is Cathy. I hope you can make it to one of the meetings there! I live about 2-2.5 hours from ft. wood. (springfield is about 4 hrs)

Iactually emailed her yesterday to let her know I was coming. She was happy to hear another LLL Leader was headed her way. I hope to make the Aug mtg and will call her as soon as we arrive!

Ashley, I agree that maybe we could meet up! Cathy is very nice, I have spoken to her a few times about selling my slings for others mamas in need. do you go to play dates or are you in PAT or anything around here? They are really great!
