How long does it last?

Why with this child and not with others?

Is it linked to oversupply?

What else should I know?

This is child #3 for us. Did I just not notice with the other 2?

nak... oht :)

well, I had no problems with Erik, tons with Anders. I think Erik had a better suck. He had NO issues bf, and he still nursed quickly, but he was efficient, and just seemed to "get" it. Anders, he latched on, but had a weaker suck, and it just overwhelmed him (he was bigger, incidentally). So I think I probably had OAL wiht ERik (I had milk squirting everywhere, I let down on both sides when nursing, I had to wear nursing pads for a year, not because I leaked but because I would let down forcefully when nursing), but he was strong enough to handle it.

With Anders, around 4 months it got better. For him, I think my body regulated some, but also that he just got better at nursing. I did find that it really took almost a year for me to stop letting down on both sides with milk squirting everywhere, but with Anders it only happened after 4 months if I was REALLY full... but when it did, he could keep up.

I don't know if it's always linked to oversupply. I had a big supply, but I never had any issues with engorgement with either child.

So my personal experience is all that I know. I hope that helps!

How long does it last?well my letdown was painful until probably 9 months to a year. was soping wet until about 6 months, wore nursing pads until 18 month-2 years because i leaked constantly

Why with this child and not with others? don't know, this baby has a much better latch. Lu lu has a very gentle latch, never needed to suck hard i guess. but still i do not have oal this time

Is it linked to oversupply? well i was never short that is for sure lol

What else should I know?i always letdown into a towel or prefold when they were wee, also nursed same breast for multiple feedings to prevent/help foremilk/hindmilk imbalance

This is child #3 for us. Did I just not notice with the other 2? i would say you didn't have it ime

Hmmm... this sounds like how it was with Lilly. Maybe she just handled it better?
