my 2 year old son likes to close doors

we are a pretty open door kind of home, the cats do not appreciate this.

when he sees us going through a door, he will run ahead slam the door and hold it closed with his body...

what to do?

Throw a prefold over the top so he cannot shut the door. The lack of a slam sound was enough to convince each of my kids that it just wasn't worth it.

My cousin did this with her 8yr old who was slamming them for fun and when she was mad. They took her door off of the hinges in her room. She didn't like that and stopped alamming doors so she got hers back...lol! Not really a solution for a 2yr old, but I thought it was a great idea none the less.

That is a great idea :) We were at the emergency room two weeks ago for xrays because my son slammed his fingers in the door trying to shut it :(

No more slammed fingers for us (or privacy, but hey? I never get that anyway!) :monkeydan
