My dh has really really really stepped up to the plate with this babe. He's a great man to begin with, but sometimes, you know, he's just such a man about stuff. When Lauren was born, I ALWAYS had to get up in the morning with her no matter how bad the night had gone. I was so exausted! Finally, I had a hissy fit and we agreed to him getting up with her 3 mornings/week and I'd do the other four.
This time, without my even saying a thing, he is getting up with the boy around 5:00 a.m. so that I can sleep a few more hours. He does this without complaint every single morning!!! This is a man that really doesn't do well without sleep. I appreciate it soooo much.
And, he can get the boy to go to sleep better than I can. In the evenings, Jonathan gets so flipped out about nursing - "I must have it, no I cannot, yes, I must, no I cannot." He'll nurse and nurse, then pull away and stiffen up and cry. It is as if he wants it to calm him but he's over tired and it doesn't calm him down (strange, I know). So, dh will take him and cuddle him and within less than 15 minutes, he's asleep. I can't get him to go to sleep because if he's with me, he wants boob, but that flips him out when he's this tired (only at night).
Tonight, dh took us out to dinner because I'm probably tired of cooking as I've cooked "the past three nights." When he comes home, if I tell him that I've done nothing all day, he says, "good; I'm glad."
Anyway, I  him so much.
