..have just become available here in Australia..so.. anyone tried them? In particular, the laundry powder/detergent? Looking for feedback before I go buying a crate of the stuff!!

We use their disposable diapers (eek! well, I used cloth for the better part of the last 7 1/2 years, and I just was over it, so I went for crunchy paper), tp, unbleached paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent. I think that's all we've tried so far. I've liked everything - particularly the smell of the dish stuff. The paper towels are a little stiff, but I hardly use paper towels, so I can live with that. Wish I could tell you about the laundry stuff, but I can say if it smells half as good as the dish products, it'll be yummy.

i use their window cleaner and all purpose cleaner and i like them a lot.

We use their dishwashing detergents and LOVE them. They preform just like mainstream products, IMO. We've tried alot of biodegradable products, and I think 7th gen. is one of the best. :D

I've use the laundry detergent and like it. I think (not for sure) that it is not so good for cloth diapers as it can cause build up. Otherwise, I really liked it. Very easy on the skin and not perfumey.

I have only ever seen them in Mothering mag, and was rapt to see them for sale here. :monkeydan

I use their free & clear laundry detergent! I like it. Its comparable to Cheer Free.

It is what we use at the family cabin up in the hills, because whatever we send down the drain ends up in our leech field, so it makes you more aware..

I didn't notice much of a smell at all with the detergent, disappointing because I love clean smelling laundry, and at home use super scented fabric softener. I also noticed that I had to use hot or warm water to dissolve the detergent, so you can't just set your washer on the cold/cold and walk away,,the load I did that with this weekend came out with chunks if un-dissolved detergent all over it. I just automatically use the cold cold cycle on everything, especially up there because the hot water heater is tiny...

I was also bummed that the fish slime I got on my "Mom your game is WACK" t-shirt didn't come out..I will rewash it today at home and see if I can salvage the shirt from the dingy grey smears all over the belly from getting the fisht he kids caught off the hooks..

Just from what I experienced this weekend, I give it a thumbs down, but I would ask around. The mountain water could have more minerals or something making the detergent not work so well... :)

I've been using eco-friendly laundry detergent exclusively for a few years and tbh I'm not happy with it. We have terrible staining problems. All of our clothes wind up with oily looking spots on them. I have to use liberal amounts of Bi-o-Kleen to try to prevent them.

If anyone has any pointers for better success I'd love them.

Oh, I prefer the liquid 7th gen. When I bought the powder I had to disolve it in a pitcher of hot water before adding it to the wash.

I like the seventh generation liquid laundry detergent, the hand diswashing soap and the dishwasher powder.

There are other products that are similar which I tend to use cause they are a bit less money but once upon a time I used 7th all the time because the others were not as available and 7th was (early 1990's)

We just recently finished up our first box of 7th Gen. powdered laundry detergent. I found that I had to sprinkle it well around the washer and not just dump it in, or it would form a crusty clump and not dissolve. Washing wise, I think it did fine. I only used it on our clothes and towels, not diapers, I use Tide for those and don't want to mess with our wash routine and risk detergent build up/burn. I bought BiOKleen powdered detergent to try, it's cheaper than the 7th Gen. We use 7th generation Lavender scented dish soap, works great. :) Oh and I got the 7th gen. color safe bleach to try too, haven't used it yet though.

Totally NON-crunchy, but I use Shout gel (with the scrubber top) on ALL stains, especially greasy ones, with whatever detergent I use.

I've tried their
-dish washing liquids (the apple & unscented),
-their citrus rug cleaner (this stuff is amazing, we have a lot of bad messes & have tried a lot of other products, all natural & chemical, too),
-the unscented window/all purpose cleaner,
-the laundry liquid unscented soap,
-the non-chlorine bleach alternative liquid,
-the paper towels,
-toilet paper (the 1 ply is actually better than the 2 ply),
-the garbage bags (make sure you get the 30 gal ones in the 20 pack with the 2 ply, that say .85 mil on the package, the others are too thin),
-the disposable diapers (very absorbant, I have heavy wetters),
-the wipes (not so wild about these, they tend to dry out really fast).

I have bad allergies & very sensitive skin. I like that I can use the cleaners with out a rash or asthma attack.

You know, that's what I used to use and it worked great! It's been at least 5 years since I used it, back before our last move.
I think I need to be flexible in my convictions. I'm starting to think that the Earth would be less impacted by a bottle of stain remover than lots of stained clothing that needs to be thrown out.
