i have some pul and some cute cotton fabric that i want to use to make a wet bag. should i just sew the 2 layers together, or should i somehow fuse the fabric to the pul? how should i fuse?

if i just sew the 2 together, can i put the slick side of the pul to the wrong side of fabric, so the inside of my bag shows the nice soft side of the pul? would this affect the waterproofness?

I'm not sure about your second question but if it is polyester PUL you shouldn't have a problem doing that - although it might get poopoo all over it!

On your first question, I have found the best thing to do is don't sew the 2 layers together. Since your decorative fabric is cotton - if it is sewn so that it is inside the bag, it will wick. Period. Regardless of if you try to fuse the fabric to the PUL. I have instead learned to sew 2 separate "envelopes" so that the cotton isn't sandwiched inside the pul and therefore touching the wetness inside.

Make your outside bag a little bigger than your inside bag, like 1/4". I serge the knit side of the solid pul. Place the pul 'bag' inside the pretty cotton outer bag.

I actually make a zippered at the top bag and I cant think of a good way to explain how I do the zipper. I have to think WAY hard everytime, lol!!

For a drawstring you could go down from the top about 2" and sew around both bags together. Make your buttonholes for your drawstring on the outer print. place the drawstring down between the layers and through your button holes. Then turn down and top stitch the upper edge... KWIM?
