I am just not in the mood to sew lately. I haven't bought any fabric or notions in almost 3 weeks (that's a record for me! :monkeydan ), but I also haven't cared to sew either.
Anyone else feel the same?

Me. I don't seem to have much desire to sew. There are so many other things to do right now, by the time I get a chance to sew I am too tired.
The kids have plenty of summer clothes and its too soon for fall clothes. The way they grow I don't know what size they will be by the time the weather is cooler.
Our garden is also going strong so I am busy freezing and canning. :)

I don't sew much at all lately. Busy enjoying the summer and at naptime I crash. Then in the evening I am working on the house. Oh well, I'm sure it will return.

Today I was wanting to sew... but I need to clean my house. I have people coming over tomorrow. The wife wouldn't care... but her hubby, well. :(

My dh made me an awesome sewing table to put my machines on and store my necessities about a month ago. I have only sewn twice! I normally sew every day. Granted I have been battling migraines but geeze. Last couple of things I made my 3 y old she WILL not wear them, wahhh. She only has a couple of rtw outfits and that is all she wants to wear. Hates all of her clothes. We went to the mall the other day and she is looking at all of the clothes just going crazy. "Mommy this is so pretty. Can we buy it??" I said, "Oh honey I can sew that for you." She screamed, "NO SEW. Yuk." Wah. SHe's too young for that. My son doesn't like anything I make him except for pj pants but he never has. Oh, long story short, right...lol. I just dont want to sew right now. I have a couple of cute outfits planned for myself but not motivated. Tried to motivate myself by buying a couple of patterns since they were on sale at Hancocks for 99 cents. I got a bag pattern and a fabric bowl pattern to make something cute for ME. :) Sorry this is long. Just wanted to say I feel your pain. THen I feel guilty about it because of all the money that is invested in this "hobby" when sometimes it doesn't feel like a hobby but more of a necessity. You know!

Oh Craftymama, that's got to be heartbreaking! :( Maybe some of her attitude is coming from her brother?
I'm kinda slumpy right now, too. Yesterday, there were a couple chunks of time that I *could have* sewn, and I just didn't. I'd walk in there and think "eh..." Too lazy to change threads, too overwhelmed by things that need to be done, sewing room too messy, whatever. I did manage to get one thing made start to finish, but I know I could have done more.

Yes :( I've been in one for over a week and it's very frustrating. I did finally sew a 4th dress for Jadyn this a.m. and I thought it came out cute but she doesn't really like it :( She's the same way - prefers to wear her few RTW outfits over stuff I make. It makes me sad. I knew this time was coming, but I didn't think it would be when she was 6.

I've been home for 5 days and I haven't even touched my machines yet so it's been over 2 weeks since I've made anything. I don't have a huge urge to make anything right now. My older girls have plenty of summer clothes and the twins have enough but I could probably make them a couple more things. I'd been excited planning fall wardrobes for them but now dh wants to go interview for a job in Indiana. That will totally mess up all my sewing plans. lol If we moved there I'd need to make everything long sleeve but if we stay in CA I'd rather make them short sleeve.
Unfortunately I can't say that I've stopped buying fabric.

Im completely slumped. I even have ideas, just cant make myself get started on them. Both my sergers need to be serviced, and Id rather just buy a new one, but cant afford to. I also have machine envy... I want a new sewing machine that has more stitches. (and an embroidery machine and a coverhemmer - lol)

I haven't sewn in weeks, just haven't had the motivation to trace, cut....blah blah blah....lol Hoping to get back into the groove real soon I gotta make some diapers for Serena in a couple days, I'm sure I'll be back into the swing of things after doing them. :D

 to my sewing friends...
I made a bunch of pj shorts for Daniel out of the boyish Baby Nay, and most of them he refuses to wear. :( That is so discouraging. However, yesterday he made my day. I finally finished the ottobre soccer shirt that he had requested (SNS coming soon!) and showed it to him. He was ecstatic! "thank you, mommy!!" and he had to wear it immediately. Then he had to go outside to try to organize a pick-up soccer game so he could show his new soccer shirt to all his neighborhood friends, lol! <warm fuzzies>
So, can you let your kids choose the fabric? Or show you from line drawings what kind of dress, or shorts, or whatever? I've learned that you can't show kids the front of the pattern envelope with the pictures - they can't see past that particular fabric choice.

I am. I really shouldn't be since I have a ton I NEED to sew. The kids are set on summer clothes and Jacki was given a bunch of pants for this fall/winter. I suppose I could work on her shirts and dresses and then work on Zachary's fall stuff, but it's too warm right now. :( But I need to sew stuff for the baby since I got rid of all the baby stuff we have. :eyes: I need to make some more newborn dipes and then start on some smalls and mediums. Then I should make some covers, but I really hate working with PUL so I'm thinking of either buying some or having someone make some for me. I really don't have enough outfits either and I'm trying not to buy anything, but I don't think roughly 6 newborn/0-3 month outfits are going to be enough. LOL

I haven't sewn anything but CD liners since I have moved. I even got a new machine. I have used it once showing someone else how to sew. UGH, I am in no mood for sewing. I KNOW I am suffering from depression and anxiety right now too. I haven't even visited this forum until tonight. I really need a pick me up and an inspiration. :(
I have a quilt to sew for a friend's wedding and have been really putting it off too. UGH.
Sorry, I hope I am not bringing anyone else down with me. :(

I'm not sewing lately too. I even cut myself a dress a weel ago, and I'm still staring at the pieces
Craftymama you can do what I did with dd, I sew when she's not at home, put in a known kids wear bag and say "look honey what I bought for you togay..." ugly, but she's happy :D

i'm not exactly in a funk. i'm really feeling excited about the idea of sewing and have several projects i'd love to get to, but i am so zonked out by the time i get milo to bed lately. i have really got to find something that he can do for an hour or an hour and a half by himself during the day so i can sew a little. he is really running me ragged! when he gets up in the morning the first thing he does is bring me his shoes...

Meeeeeeeeeeee!
I am in a sewing rut, and also just busy busy so I am not getting anything done. Not even stuff I HAVE to get done... like outfits Cyan will grow out of by the time I get them done at this rate etc. lol...

I know how you feel, Jayne! By the time Abigail goes down for a nap or is out for the night . . . I am pooped! That is why I am hoping that I can get LOTS of stuff cut out while I am in MI visiting family. That way when I am pooped, I can pick something easy to sew that is already cut out.

I wanna sew but I'm not in the mood to finish drafting the patterns that I need to do and I'm not interested in cutting.
Oh, and I've got some fabric that I want to wash but I don't wanna do that either.
Now, if all that was done and the projects were sitting stacked at the sewing desk I'd be all about sewing right now. Alas, it is not and I am not.
