Dh's family is all from that area. He was born and raised in Fostoria, now his mom and sister live in Findlay. We were just there a few weeks ago when St. Michaels' had their festival.

Mayfield, that's funny. We went to the fireworks there last Saturday, sat along Wilson Mills. Ooh, and you have the drive-thru Starbucks, too!

My twins are three years old! ;) Will be 3 1/2 next month... wow, I'm just amazed! We, too, were at the Mayfield fireworks! :hahaha: Also, went to the Mentor Yacht Club on Sunday night to see fireworks as well!

Ohh, I don't do Starbucks, but I go there sometimes with friends and ask for very very very light coffee flavor or just none at all if they can make it like that! :D

Soooo cool! We will have to meet up soon if you feel comfortable doing that! We will TRY to make it to the Twins Festival in August ~ we went there when my kids were one... didn't go last year because we were on vacation and we'll be going on vacation AGAIN (but will try to make it there.)

doubleblessed, I really want to meet up sometime! We're in Ashtabula County - but I am always going to Lake county for everything... because there is NOTHING here in Ashtabula. I was just in Mentor at Jenniffer and Co. Day Spa last week for a facial - ahhhh. Oh, and my son takes tae kwon do 3 times a week in Mentor, too. So, we are there a LOT.

Hi! I'm originally from Marysville. I moved to South Bend, IN in 2001 so my husband could get his PhD at Notre Dame. My sister lives in Marion. Would like to go back someday...but it's not in the near future for us.

We have actually looked in Union County quite a bit. There was a home in the Richwood area that we bid on, but we were second in line and we didn't get it :( Now we are looking more east of Marion, in Morrow County. Mt. Gilead and Cardington area. Are you familiar at all with those areas? It is hard for me to imagine living in a place that I am so unfamilar with. We thought we would be moved by now, we are getting kind of desperate here!

Justin's family is all from Morrow county and his uncle is the sheriff. We're pretty familiar with the area. The family "homestead" is in Johnsville. I'm actually in Ohio for two weeks and will be spending quite a bit of time at the farm so if you're up in that area, give me a call. I'll PM you my cell number! :)

No, I'm not familiar with those areas. But, I really do love Marysville. It's the perfect place to raise kids.

Obviously I responded to your pm before I read this, LOL. I didn't know Justin was from Morrow county(!)-but that makes sense because you met him in college in Mt. Vernon, right? Oh, I'm so relieved to know that someone I know has lived up there! Now I know how you felt moving to unfamiliar territory (though Columbus is a lot closer than MD!).
When are you coming in? Maybe we will get lucky and find a place this weekend(we are looking at over 20 homes)-it may work out that we are up there when you are after all.
Do you have any dirt for me on the schools up there or any areas to specifically avoid? You can pm me if you want!

Hello, We are located in Fredericktown, OH. We have smallish (23 acres)organic farm in Knox county. I work with the Amish and I manufacture organic mattresses and bedding. We just opened up a shop in Fredericktown, called the Savvy sleeper.

I home school my 4 boys, 11, 9, 7, 7 and my daughter chases after them (she is almost 3). WE love to go on educational field trips, but mostly I hang at home and experience life at its fullest.

Me too. I lived in OH until I joined the army at 19. I was gone for 10 years (only 4 in the active duty army) and then moved back when my oldest was almost 2 to be near family. I've been back 6 years already and added 3 more kids!

Thought I would check back in now that I know where we are settling. Our house is finally in contract and we found a home in Northwest Delaware county. We will be about equal driving distance from Delaware, Marysville and Marion. Any mamas from that tri-county region?

*Actually, Columbus mamas, we will only be about 25 minutes from the Columbus Zoo, so not too far from you all!

I lived in the Delaware area for about 3 years and may eventually move back. I really like it up there.

We live in Brown County/Oh. We go once or twice a year up to Blacklick to visit friends for the fair. Sometimes we go to meet with my only other german relative at her in-laws in COlumbus. Lived near Loveland for a while.
Forgot to mention: I am originally from Germany, moved here 12 yrs ago to be with DH.

Our family consists out of
DH, myself and a boy (6) and girl (3). I am a SAHm who works 1 x a week at the YMCA for 4 hrs (I don't really consider that work since DH stays with them). Stayed FT home with them for a long time. We garden, did CD, do a lot of organic stuff, BF for a few years, co-slept for a few years but I am not really a chrunchy mama IMO, I am more the "chewy" type. IYKWIM!

Met one of the Mama's before (Jennifer). She is such a sweet mama.
