It's been too long since I've sewn for my own kids! Owen and Leah both needed warm weather PJs so I made these up. They are just okay. Owen's are KSFT lengthened and made boxer style for sleep shorts. I need to make the waist bigger next time. This boxer elastic has a tight stretch.

Leah's nighties are a wing it job. I did lettuce edge at the bottom and rolled hem at the neck and arms. That was experimental and I won't do it again. It looks sloppy, but hey they are just nighties.

Lastly, I made my animal loving girlie a dog dress. This is almost the last of the fabric.com dog rib knit. I'm not too thrilled with the result on this dress. I used the ottobre baby-t in the latest issue and added a skirt. I did the gathering on my CS machine which was really cool, but I think I needed to gather even more, the skirt isn't flowy enough. Haven't tried it on yet since I still need to add snaps at the shoulders. Hopefully it will be cuter on than it is on the floor :eyes:

Great summery jams. :)
I've found it nearly impossible to get a good rolled hem without it lettucing at least a bit on a knit- at least on the stretchy direction.

Yeah, I'm feeling the guilt too! I have a bunch of stuff for Hadyn that's been sitting here, half done for 2 months. Yikes!

Love the undies! And Leah's dress is very cute. Sounds like your nature girl and my nature girl have a lot in common!

Very sweet! I LOVE the lettucing. How did you do the Boxer elastic? Just sew it into a circle and then sew it on? Do you have to topstitch to get it to lie flat?

Suz, I had the machine set up for chan stitch (single needle) and put the differential feed all the way up and it gathered! I don't know if a second pass would have gathered more. Also, this is a rib knit so a less stretchy fabric might have gathered more. Worth testing for sure. 2 1/2 weeks! Woohoo! You must be so excited for a vacation. I know I'm thrilled to see you all again!

Candace, yes I just sewed it into a circle and sewed it on. I used the CS but you could do a zig zag or twin needle. It was easy!
