View Full Version : FINALLY made something I'm pleased with ~ mermaid set w/1 FS ~ arasmama look
I always go overboard with the pictures...sorry. Some of them are blurry too. I made this 4T set for a little girl Sophie's birthday. I made an extra 2T skirt. If anyone's interested in a set I'll go get a 2T shirt and finish it up for $20ppd. Or I could just sell the skirt and a scrap of fabric for you to applique for $10ppd. (pending) Otherwise, I'll just hang on to it for a future birthday :).
So as I started this I thought of Allison (arasmama) and decided not to be lazy, filled bobbins with purple and serged it correctly. You proud of me Allison? :D
I was also excited that now I have so many different colored size tags (thanks Serena!) and the pink/turquoise tags matched nicely. We dyed the fabric at Suzanne's. What color was it again Suz?
Thanks for looking. I apologize for the long post and tons of pictures for such a simple outfit. LOL I don't S&S often so I'm making up for it with this post!

I serged with purple! I usually always do white and just change the left needle.

I love the variagated thread on the applique! I want to know what color you used - it goes really well with them!

It's Sulky Orchid Variegated #2121 http://www.redrockthreads.com/sulky-thread/sulky-thread-30wtvar/2461.asp :) I'm thinking the dye was either orchid or amethyst.

If it's still available when we get paid July 1 I probably do need it lol.

How long is the 2T? My 3 year old still wears a lot of 2t in RTW, because she is so petite.

The 2T is just about 11" long and it's roomy. :)

I'd like it if it is still available. Without the shirt, just the scrap for the applique.

Thanks! Here http://www.me-dezines.com/ & I just asked her for a spool of thread picture. On the back it says "Made by hand in the USA" and has my email address. You can also get labels here http://www.snap-happy.net/luscious/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=1&zenid=afdf45a18a07b7de1bf0cf2b9c1b6cd2 :) .

You luck mama's with your PRR! How nice to make a gift for a birthday. So often those events jsut sneek up on me and I am stuck buying something at Wal-Mart. I bet everyone invites you to their birthday's in hopes of getting an awesome gift like that!

I'm not a fan of the mermaid prr but that's really cute! Glad my girls aren't peeking over my shoulder or they'd need "Ariels" too

That's funny because the girl I made it for asked me for an "Ariel" dress. Also, I did not like the mermaids when I first got them a while back. I sold the fabric and now have bought it a few times since. LOL Other's S&S's made it grow on me.

Kori, those skirts are just adorable! I love the way you used those two PRR prints... and LOL on the serger thread! I love knits when they're white on the reverse because then I don't have to change the thread!
Great job!
