i can definitely understand that, i had EDs as well (bulemic, laxative abuser then went on to use cocaine and cack to keep my weight down) and spent the first few years of my 2nd marriage putting things off (we will go on vacation when i lose weight, we will go dancing when i lose weight, we will take dance classes when i lose weight, etc, etc, ad nauseaum). you are a good and beautiful person and you deserve sexy clothing now. i will be back in a bit with some good links! anyone else who has good ones, please post them! we all need some places with nice clothing to make us feel like the goddesses we are.

I'm looking for some lingerie at dh's request. Apparently I need to wear more red lol. We're also headed to Vegas to see "Bite" in October and I want a couple of Gothy/Sexy things for dancing and Halloween events. I don't have anything other than patchy stuff (which I love but is occasionally frumpy) I'm looking for some Ren and Victorian/Edwardian styles for everyday too (also at dh's request) I haven't bought clothes in more than 5 years since I kept saying "when I lose weight" and everything has worn out so we've made a conscious decision to spend some money on me

I need a good sexy lingerie site too. Dh really likes teddies, but I am short (5"1') and round so the ones I have had are either too tight or too saggy. Any ideas mamas?
If anyone has a chance to go to Boothbay Harbor, Maine, there is an amazing store called Enchantments which has a wonderful selection of plus size clothes among their small sizes. I just found so many pretty and totally "me" things, that I actually cried in the dressing room!
eta: spelling corrections!

i agree wholeheartedly BUT at least they do have the clothes, a few years ago you couldnt have even seen the clothing in those sizez. not a perfect society yet but slowly its getting there. oh and a few of the sites do have some 8X models

Why is it that many plus/super plus sized clothes have super long "short" sleeves. I am only 5'1 - my arms aren't very long - if I get a shirt that covers my vertical c-section incision (incision + 3 pregnancies in 3 years flab = tummy that looks like a butt :eyes: ) then the 'short' sleeves are over my elbows.

i think its because most of us have exlarge upper arms (i know i do lol) so they make extra room. unfortunately with any RTW clothing, no matter what size you are (from 0-40w), there are going to be these issues - the only way to get around it is custom clothing you either make your self or pay out the a$$ for. OR altering the clothing you buy (i do that a lot and if you cant sew or alter then almost any dry cleaners has an alterations expert on staff and can tailor your clothing for a small charge) hth!

I think I need to learn how to alter sleeves! They are always super long and supe wide on me...

Thanks Bran. Yes, I'd definately be interested in some new patterns. I could draft them, but that always depresses me. I have a very small window where I'm willing to sew for me before I start getting ":poor me" and stop lol.
As far as long short sleeves, I always have the problem that everything I find is just too short. I'm 6'1" and apparently manufacturers feel that if you're heavy you are also short.
