I know the Fairy Tale swap is going on right now but,

Can we start a sign up for the Fall nature table swap already? I don't want to step on anyone's toes though if they had already wanted to be in charge of this..... but I do want to start on some projects for the fall nature table ( I know only mid-June, but never can start too early)

Can we keep it to a group of ten? (that would mean that we would send in nine items....) any more than that gets too many to make.

I'd also like to to have a ship by date the end of August so that way we can get it out on our tables by fall.....

ETA: I have updated the list and closed the swap. I know that there are three otheres who wanted to get in but when we do groups bigger than this it really gets too big and then things I think would just not turn out as nice. I do like the idea that someone gave of starting a Fall nature table swap group B and then if you are in group A you can not be in group B. So, for this swap send in 9 items to me by August 31st. I'll ship back within a day or two after recieving all the boxes. I'll post shipping totals after all the boxes are recieved and repacked. Generally the things are under a lb. and $3.85 covers it.

I basically think that I try to swap something that I would like to get.

We never set any value on the swaps that I have organized ... I do what Tawnya does ... send something that I would be happy receiving.

oh I think a fall swap and after a hallowen swap would great. I actually had 2 ideas for the fall swap, but now I can use the other for Halloween :monkeydan

Hey Geogirl and Jo -
There might be enough interest to get another group of 5 or 10 together. You might want to post a "Fall Nature Table Swap Group B" or whatever and see if you get enough takers. Just because one group fills doesn't mean another can't be started. It's nicer to have a smaller group since then everyone only has to make 5 or 10 of their item. But with a small size, someone's bound to be left out, so I would say that starting a second group would be great!

Oh, and if it were me, I'd limit it to people who aren't in "group A" first, since the point is to let in people who didn't make the first one (versus letting us A folk join so we can get even more fun staff ;peek: ). KWIM?

Can I get an opinion on pumpkin babies? If they're considered "hallowe'en" that's fine, and I'll make something else. Would root children be appropriate?

I think pumpkin babies are perfect for fall. To me, pumpkins are a fall item that are also used for Halloween. Jack O'Lanterns would be a Halloween item, but pumpkins - definitely great fo rthe fall swap, if you ask me :)

Have you started thinking what to make? There is still a lot of time before we have to mail these in, but just wanted a reminder to all who signed up. I was also wondering if we could change the ship by date to AUGUST 26th. That way I could hopefully get sorted and out before the holiday weekend.

I'd offer up your seat, I think we would have no problem in getting it filled! Just make sure they come back here and post also that they are getting in on the swap so that when I post an update msg they will get it too.

I am mailing this coming Tuesday...But I was under the impression that the person who dropped out offered there space up to someone and the swap size had remained the same.

I misread the mailing date too. I think I am going to have to drop out. I hurt my back and I have been waiting for it to heal (sitting is really painful) so that I can finish my crafts. But it looks like I have run out of time. I'm so sorry.

no, no mailing out after the holiday is fine- like mail out by Tuesday. I thought I was going to be out of town for the holiday but plans changed (and gas prices have JUMPED! ) so we are staying put.

I got yours today huntersmama- they were the hanging leaves right? I only opened one- ours- because you have the others so nicely wrapped. My boys thought it was great and although we are a far ways a way from fall here in Oklahoma we hung it up- hoping it will bring fall weather soon.

yep, I got yours, just updated the op. I have had a busy, busy weekend and week and well.....I have it and they are great. I didn't show those to my boys who are marble obessed right now. I can get them to do anything for a marble- they forget how many marbles they have and then when I find them I just pick them up and recycle them.

all packages mailed out today- sorry for the delay. Dh got home this weekend after being away for two months and then he goes back to work for another long period of time where we won't see him much (he's a Drill Sergeant in the Army). So we have been enjoys lots of fun family time together, and I have been getting out of the house KID -FREE!

So anyways. I hope you like it all and it gets to you ok. I mailed priority and have DC#'s if needed.

I LOVE the potted flowers, Hunter would literally NOT let go of them, and the kids both love the felt trees :)
our little blanket and hot choclate mugs are keeping 2 fairies snug and cozy on the piano(our nature spot) and the crystal balls are keepign the wizard and priestest company and the silk, i just love that silk!

we just LOVE everything :happy:
