What is your fav pattern? I need to start sewing dipes while I feel good.

Also, any suggestions on how I could make a maternity patch skirt?

TIA~

Here is a link to my Sew A Long for drafting your own diaper pattern:

Since you aren't too far along you might want to try making some skirts that are shirred at the top. There is a sew a long by *Heather* that shows how to do it for a sundress but the concept can be applied to a skirt. The shirring can stretch to fit your growing tummy. :) Old Navy has them on their website if you want to see how it would look.

HTH!

I just made myself a patchy skirt and it couldn't have been easier. I just bought the fabrics I wanted and cut them into squares. Then I serged them into strips making the number of blocks to be whatever was long enough when I held it up to my waist, giving room for the hem and casing. Then I sewed all of the strips together. I wrapped the big piece of fabric around my waist. I just kept adding strips until there was enough room. I know I am not explaining this well, but I just made it big enough that when I put the elastic in it then It gathered up. I hope that makes sense. So anyway, then I made the casing and put through the elastic. Then hemmed it up. This is all, of course, assuming you want a big, loose, gathered skirt.

Not the best picture, but helps give an image anyway. Don't mind the wrinkles, I had to pull it from the laudry to take a picture lol

It's not necessarily maternity, because I can wear it after pregnancy too, and I just made my sister one a lot like it and she's not pg. But the elastic allows it to grow with your belly :) Plus, I wear mine under my belly, and so it keeps it's gathered looked, instead of being stretched out too much when I start to get real big :) I know this was probably more of a response then you were looking for, but I love mine so much I think everyone should have one

Do you still have a picture of the skirt?
